Dean Young is not in our top 17

For the 2nd week in a row, he was the turning point in the game

He missed Hodges on the 20 and one play later gave away a pot plant penalty, that was the turning point of the game

This after last week's 2 pot plant penalty and then the sin bin

He is killing us

Too often he stands at first receiver, takes too long to pass and stop our offense, in the first half we were attacking and he threw a floating ball and Hornby was smashed

His defense is also average, he might makes a lot of tackle, but most of them involve him not moving up and the player running over him for a 15 metre gain

In my opinion, he is not a first grade player, if not for his dad, he would never have played first grade

i agree he should be replaced. sorry all you deano lovers but ive said it all season he has to go because he is not par with 1st grade anymore

Hmmm Deano is one of our most experienced heads out there (totally needed in the finals), though I agree a few silly penalties lately (cant compare with Ryles though lol).

I dunno, ill watch him next week, we have the players to replace him, but tbh I think he is one of the reasons for our success, so you have to give him slack for some quiet games.

I have been a huge Young fan since the beginning but last night was the first time I really noticed it, hopefully it was just one game.

I've been saying all year that Young is killing us. Slow in attack, terrible passing game and has the knack of hogging the ball to run 5 metres before getting whacked.

What a load of rubbish!!! Young is a 1 per center take a better look and see who does the most talking out there, clapping his hands and revving the boys up. Who averages the most tackles per game. You knobs probably didn't notice that he played hooker, second row and a bit of 5/8 last night. Give him a break you are worring about a game that was won on the back of a mistake by Wendall and a couple of 50/50 calls. With the amount of attacking ball the Broncs had they should have smashed us but only won by 10. No dobt about it the Drags were flat but that is probably a combination of players coming back from injury and a tough road game last week with a short turn around.

In the past I have been very critical of Dean Young at hooker and have previously stated my intentions in that role.

However to drop him from 1st grade altogether is nothing short of insult Dean Young is one of those players that every club he needs he is a very hard worker, has plenty of agression and is a very passionate club man! He desereves to not only be in the top 17 but he is a starting 80 minute player and he is one of our best 2nd rowers at the club.

So we went on a huge winning streak and no-one said a word about Dean Young. We lose two games and suddenly he is no better than an A Grade park footy player. Some people need to pull their head in and realise he was one of only two people last night running straight at the line (the other being Weyman). The rest of the team looked like they were descended from crabs they were going that sideways.

Dean Young is a guy who gives 110% all game, every game. If some of the other players followed his lead the last two weeks we would probably have had 2 convincing wins rather than two woeful losses.

I must have been watching a different game last night. I though Deano's involvement was first class. He played hard and made plenty of great tackles. I agree, he may not be the clubs best hooker, but he is a superb forward and one I would have in the team every match.
