Good to see the Jets are equal second in Premier League, ( The Knights have had two byes and played an extra game as well ).
JB boys in equal third.
Whats doin. Not used to this winning thing, still in shock mode.
Roosters, Manly and Bulldogs all on 10 points are still too close for comfort though. Manly play Penrith next week, however what happened last weekend.
Penrith who were last beat Wests 50 to 12, to jump from last place straight up to one outside the eight. MMMmmm.
Roosters on form should beat Newcastle, but then the Knights beat CANBERRA last weekend, 32/28. Another upset, and only the Raiders second loss of the year. MMMmmm. ( Memories of Chicka scoring the Canberra grandfinal try then, Go CHICKA, what a side step ).
Leaves a good match against Bulldogs doesnt it. They are only -4 as well. A good game against us and they could overtake. Though I noticed they have three players playing City/Country game on Friday night. Cronulla just have STEPHENS I think. So we stand to lose another forward for the Dogs match. Still have plenty of depth though ( touch wood ).
Was checking the ladder and noted that apart from Parra and Manly who are on 156 points conceded against, the Jets are a close second in the comp for defence as well, sitting pretty on only 158 points conceded.
When you take into consideration that shocker against Manly early in the season when we conceded over 50, that is not a bad effort at all is it.
However attack is only 176, which is small in comparison to points scored by some of the other teams in the comp. ( Canberra 246, Parra 272, Knights 236, etc ) ( Hell even Souths have 217 ).
Dogs interestingly have scored a similar amount, sitting on 172 For and 176 against.
Suppose there are still no easy games this year. Just some food for thought brothers and sisters in Blue. Should be a cracker of a game in any case.
PS....Back on that CHICKA thing. A bloke at work the other month saw my Jets bag, ( which I proudly and religiously take too and from work by train where it is a travelling advertisement ). He said he played several first grade games for the Illawarra Steelers when in his prime. Recalled going to tackle the weaving flash. Ended up with one of CHIKAS boots in his mits, mud on his face, and view of CHICKAS back as he sprinted off at 110 in the shade with only one boot. Ha ha.
GO YOU MIGHTY JETS this Saturday at Henson. Hope to make it five wins in a row, and really put some distance between us and some of the lower placed sides. :!:
