Defence!

OK, so we are sitting up there in equal first on top of the table after 8 rounds and I should be feeling very happy with the team and over the moon at where they are at. But after 2 weeks where the opposition has both put 30 points on us I'm very VERY worried about how many points we are leaking in defence. 46-30 against the Raiders, if that had been the Storm or any other decent team this year what would have been the final score. If we are going to be title defenders (and I'm sure Dessie is hooking into them about this) we need to tighten that defence up, we have built premierships on the past around our defence, we need to do it in 2007!

G'Day Chile - how are ya????

If you go through the current results for Manly, our defense has been superb when Burns, Balin and Monaghan have all been on the field at the same time.

Now that Orford is back, balin gets half a game and burns is suspended.

I can clearly think of 4 occassions where Orford's defense or inability to read the play has directly led to tries in the last 2 weeks.

But it is good to have some attacking back!

p.s. by no means do i put all the blame on Orford. As that is not the sole reason, but it is a contributing factor

Heya amigo, you have a good point there I'm hoping when Burns does get back and with the likes of Matai and Beaver still to come who are both strong defenders we can get our wall in place...Balin has been a shining light too!
