Definately not a shocker

Well the Tigers look like they have plenty of hope for 07 after that performance. A 2 point loss to the Premiership favourites at the Graveyard ain't bad. They scored 2 tries on the 5th tackle from kicks as well.
Now the bad..
I must say i was disappopinted with Morris. Continually got caught tackled and playing the ball on the 5th tackle leaving us with one kicking option and when he did kick on the 5th he was standing up in the line and the kick was rushed and poor. Still it's good to have a number 7 that can tackle.
I thought Moodie played poor. He was rock solid under the high ball in 04 but seems he has been working in the buttery in his hiatus. But handling errors in the first game are to be expected I guess. But his handling errors were crucial.
The Good.
Gibbs first 15 minutes was outstanding and he had a solid game.
Bronson has to have cemented a spot in the 17 with that performance. Great Game!
Farah was top notch as usual.
Phatz looked very dangerous when he had a little space.
Galea was a work horse.

We keep that 17 or close to that 17 on the park we'll be climbing the ladder in no time.

Cut the high tackles out, keep your team on the field and you guys will breeze into the 8. I thought Morris' kicking game was good despite Sterlo calling for "shoulda gone high, shoulda kicked high".....yeah, cuz their wingers/centres are such midgets..

My best mate is a Tigers fan, and despite the loss reckons they are back big time, and i would agree.

All the best in 2007

Kudos Tigers,

Even the us storm fans were applauding your team when the tigers left the field.

The Tigers, baring injury, are going to a force in 2007.

Morris' kicking was inept......long kicks went straight to Slater, and close to the line he did nothing.

YOu say he shouldnt have kicked high, and that our backs are midgets, but Fatts,Collis,Moodie and Tuiaki are all 6 foot or over......hardly midgets, and taller than Geyer.

Farah was the go to man.....kicking and passing.

I didnt say your wingers were midgets, i was referring to the storm wingers/centres, guess i shouldve put it in italics, for sarcasm.

3 from 3 kicks on the last, attacking the line, all went along the ground and in the same direction.

Morris will be all the better for it, but with a bit of variety and a bit more creativity he might have won us the game. If he doesn't improve after another game or two then we should be worried...

Was interested to see Morris and Farah switch roles a couple of times on the night. Can't really argue with that kind of versatility, as long as Morris comes into a bit of form.

***i think we went alright for the first game of the season. our defence was ok, keeping melb to 3 tries in melb is pretty good, maybe we gotta practise defending kicks tho. our attack showed promise but it was always gonna take a little bit of time to get combos working with a new halfback. i think we will go good this yr***
