Hewett is aver-age. Was completley showed up by Scott Hamilton on the weekend.

I've never seen a winger so badly positioned as Peter Hewett was over and over and over and over and over again in the Super 12 grand final. He has one go it seems, come up and in and hope for the intercept, he's cannon fodder for a kick in behind the line or running numbers at him.

He may not be a superstar. But this season, he outplayed Sailor in every aspect of the game. He deserved the spot ahead of him.

NSW are firming as favourites to sign Sailor next year (doh) but I'd wager Hewatt would get the start ahead of him.

They've stated they don't want him. NSW are looking at him and Rathbone, and are a fair chance of getting one, if not both of them.

If Sailor comes here, I cant see him playing in the outside backs.

I'd prefer Wendall in my team ahead of Peter Hewett. Not even God himself would prosper on the end of Queensland's (shocking I might add) 10 man style of football. They have the weakest front row in the competition, and aside from Sharpe nothing much else in the pack. He did try and get his hands on the ball later in the comp, but it was never anywhere near where he should have had it handed to him - on the wing.

Hewett would have struggled enormously there as well.

Even if Sailor and/or Hewatt were in the squad, they wont make the cut, either of them

I have heard that they are thinking of putting Wendall in at centre for NSW so this would give room for Hewett. I think Wendall hasn't been used that well in the Reds camp to the point where he looks like a chump. Wendall is still one of the best players around for making yards with the ball where as Hewett though quick and great at getting intercepts will soon find plays that are showing him up by the opposition. Hewett needs another year in S12/14 to work out his kinks to come from club footy to S12 then test is huge leaps in just one season.

Peter Hewat is not a very good player, he was very lucky all season.

Sailor was one of the Red's best (which isn't saying much), with the extremely limited opportunities he had at the end of the worst backline I've seen in my years of supporting them. He has enthusiasim and strength, and I don't really blame him for going to NSW.

Hewatt deserves to be in the squad as well, however.

Hewat can't defend, he probably never attempted a tackle due to always trying his luck with the intercept. He can't catch a high ball. When he gets the ball on the end of the backline he chips it through! He is hopeless.

Good goalkicker however!

If they are good luck to them, i think it could last as long as the, "lets move Larkham to fullback and Giteau to flyhalf" experiment tried by the brumbies a few years ago.
