Denver Broncos - The real deal?

They are 7-2 and hold a two game lead in the ultra tough AFC west and are 3-0 in the division and although I'm not prepared to hand them the division crown yet, they have gone a long way towards securing a playoff berth.

The question is, can they beat the Colts? Manning's men will most likely secure home field advantage but teams who play indoors rarely do well in the playoffs and the only indoor team I can remember winning a SB was the Rams back in 1999.

History tells us the Broncos have a chance to win the SB but the Colts, Bengals and Steelers will all be vying for the SB as well.

I think Denver has the defence and are using Plummer the way the Ravens used Dilfer in 2001, to merely manage the offence, cut down on errors and let Bell and Anderson do the ground work.

I wouldnt discount the Chargers yet. They've had a really tough schedule but have come through it resonably well and are starting to heat up. Having said that the Broncos still have a pretty resonable run ahead. Alot could come own to the last match of the regular season when Denver travel to San Diego.

Whether anyone can beat Indy is another matter. As you said they will have home field advantage and will be tough to beat. Ironically though if they manage to go through undefeated (unlikely) then the perssure will really be on them and it could take its toll.

Will Plummer be able to keep it up? If Denver go down early in a paly-off game it will be interesting to see how he responds. A long way to go yet but yes, they are the real deal.

And you're right about the quality of the division. It's a shame that in all likelihood whoever comes second in this division wont make the play-offs yet you've got a host of nuffy teams leading the way in the NFC.

Nice crystal balling from yours truly.

Next prediction, Denver to win SB L and add trophy number 3 to the cabinet.

The Broncos don't do it for me.. they are lacking something.

I don't like Plummer either - has never realised his potential.

My only worry is if we have to rely on Jake for a last minute drive. If we are in front going into the 4th qtr, our running game and D will win it for us. Go Broncos.

Not sure what you think they are lacking because they finished the regular season with the second highest rush offence, one of the best defences and a QB who is playing mistake free football.

I look at it this way, the Ravens won in 2001 with Dilfer at QB and IMO, Plummer is a better player than Dilfer and we have the defence, especially the secondary to cause every team headaches.

We finished the season with a turnover ratio of +20, second only to the Bengals who had + 24. Funny thing is, their cornerbacks in Tory James and Deltha O'Neal were both drafted by the Broncos.

Because they have been flying under the radar? The broncos are a solid football team on both sides, i think they can go pretty far in the playoffs..

You obviously haven't watched many Bronco games if you think Plummer hasn't been good this season. He is playing the best football of his career, without being spectacular, which reminds me of another teams qb... Tom Brady and the Patriots.. a team who this season the Broncos remind me alot of... Just a good solid football team, with a great defence.

What team would Bronco fan prefer their team to meet next week?
If the Steelers win you get the Patriots, otherwise it's the Bengals.
I think if I were a Broncos fan I'd probably prefer New England having had a solid win over them earlier in the year.

Yes we did and we won 28-20 but from what I saw of NE, we can beat them if we play to our potential.

I'd rather the Pats but playing Cincinatti wont phase me either.

I think Colts fans woudl rather play Cincy and I'm feeling confident about whoever we play next weel based on what I saw today.
