No other Wenty player acted as Graf did, the tackle before that he made a swinging arm that missed thanks to Charlie H seeing it and pulling his head under his chest when he was on the ground. Graf swung hard enough to swing himself around off balance. And made a high shot a few tackles before that.
He then ran at Luke, raised his elbow and hit him flush on the jaw no other part came into contact with him. If he was going for a shoulder charge then fair enough things go wrong but that was not even attempted and he had time to pull out as he did not leave the ground to charge it down. Just a blindside cheap shot.
His kicking leg had already hit the ground and was watching the ball go dead. If Graf has done any professional fighting or even amateur he is in trouble. You expect things to go wrong from time to time it is footy but not cheap shots and while he may be nice bloke off the field he showed he was a dog on it.
Girvie, you may thinkit is an overreaction but we have an obligation to protect our players from such acts. I have seen the shot many times and no matter which way you look at it it was deliberate and his previous actions supportthat.
Richie Parker has been penalised for high shots and has been placed on report but not suspended, if you notice it is because he does not use his arms but rather his head and shoulders. He cops plenty at his head though as well. Wonder why he has several offers to play elsewhere next year, he is neither a cheap shot artist and keeps getting cleared when reported as his tackles look worse than they are.
Graf I hear may be retiring anyway to go professional in boxing and maybe that is his best career option.
