Bit of a surprise there but probably a good move for Diskin, he was getting a bit stale at Leeds and the change should do him good.

What do Leeds do when Buderus retires or gets hurt again? Couldn't understand that signing when it happened, and now they've lost Diskin, it looks even more stupid.

Hopefully they don't import and use youngsters Paul McShane and Liam Hood as backup to Buderus.

Diskin has consistently outplayed Buderus since he signed for the club. I think he saw it as a challenge and he answered it well. Leeds do have a talented youngster in McShane, but I fear he'll get stuck behind Buderus and have his development stunted.

Buderus is one of the best hookers in the world, If im McShane im happy to be playing behind such a great player. Buderus can teach him so much and he will be a better player for playing behind buderus for a year or 2.

McShane has the potential to be better than Diskin and is ready to step up to a bench role, but probably not ready to be first choice hooker just yet. Buderus has a year or two left and probably cannot manage play 80 minutes any more, while Diskin is wasted as an interchange hooker. Probably a good move for all parties.

your kidding yourself if you think buderus isnt still up there as a top hooker, if he was still in Australia he would be NSW hooker over Ennis easy.

He's done a few good things but he's been pretty average most of the time.

His gunna be more important then ever for the Rhinos next year though, without Diskin being at the club, And as a Bulls/St. Helens fan let me just say im very happy about this signing.

WTF?

OK, a Leeds fans pov. Last season when Diskin came on the field we became noticably slower and a lot of the time teams came back into the game when he was on. On numerous occasions when Buderus re-entered the field at around the 50-60 minute mark you could see the team lift and we came from behind a few times through this.

Personally I'd take Buderus over Disko any day and last season we had pretty much a full year out of Buderus and he showed glimpses of pure magic. I can only assume the English on here are calling him out for the 1 poor game he had all year, unfortunately the cup final.

As far as if he gets injured we have 2 good young hookers who Hetherington has said will be the future of the club in that role. Personally I'm not McShanes biggest fan. He is very good with ball in hand but is a defensive turnstile! Maybe that's down to age though. Luckilly for us we have had a good production like of hookers at Headingley (no jokes please) with the last 5 now being Newton, Diskin, Kaye, McShane and especially Hood. From all accounts he will be 1st choice once Buderus leaves and is a prospective England 9 of the future.

If McShane can sort his D out it's a partnership that I'll look forward to watching for hopefully the majority of the next decade with McShane coming off the bench and destroying the tired defences. 2 different hooking styles to compliment each other. Something Diskin and Buderus didn't do.
