MORE than a decade after breaking up - and downplaying an apparent rift between its two lead performers - iconic Australian 1980s band Divinyls have performed in public once again.
Fronted by singer Chrissie Amphlett and guitarist Mark McEntee, the band tonight played at the ARIA Icons Hall of Fame, after being inducted alongside Helen Reddy, Icehouse, Lobby Loyde and Daddy Cool.
The band broke up some 12 years ago and there has since been talk about a major rift between Amphlett and McEntee, who were once lovers.
McEntee has been quoted as saying he would not read a recently-released tell-all autobiography by Amphlett.
But tonight the pair seemed to have buried the hatchet - at least in public.
Amphlett is currently playing the role of Judy Garland alongside Hugh Jackman in the acclaimed musical The Boy From Oz, based on the life of Australian entertainer Peter Allen.
After being introduced to the ARIA event's audience tonight by Jackman, Amphlett moved to make her acceptance speech.
As she did, she put an arm around McEntee, saying: I need Mark.
The chisel-faced, tousle-haired blond guitarist stepped forward and smiled, simply replying OK.
