penrith had Sattler & Girdler as elders - who will we have from the current players?

Penrith had a host of seasoned players in Lang, Campbell, Gower & Priddis

penrith had a bunch of players just "ripened" Puletua, Gulavao, Wesser.

Then a host of youngsters from 19 to 23

It's a great idea to draw the parallels between ourselves and Penrith. If you consider what players we have of similar experience and ability, then we can see there isn't much difference between us and in 2002, Penrith were about as bad as us in 2003.

Peach and Stevens are clearly the elders in the team and both are firing this year, and the fact they aren't playing Origin is a disgrace which is why its great to see Goose Gould resign.

We have many seasoned campaigners in Kimmorley, Vagana, Nutley and you can include Bailey. Isemonger fits in either here or the next category.

Sullivan, Hilder and Lomu are all "ripened", so to speak.

Which leaves us with our very talented 19-23yr olds: Dumas, Gallen, Galloway, R.Williams, J.Williams, Simmons and McGoldrick.

AAAAHHHHH!

Don't know about this year Mr Tamazoid but you've cottoned onto what I was inferring. We already are a bit pantherish in the team makeup.

Our pack also never shows fear. The Storm pack was supposed to smash us, they smashed them. The Eels pack was supposed to smash us, they smashed them. Same with the Broncos and other teams.

Top 6 is as far as the boys will go IMO. They need to buy well for next year, keep key players and put in in the off season and they'll be a showing next year

Amazingly with recent and especially todays form I think we are destined for big things, maybe even this year. I obviously doubt a premiership but certainly top 8 and even a far progesssion into the finals. We played like champs today and proved to all those critiques who said we hadnt played good opposition (even though we did ie Storm, Raiders, Bulldogs - nearly won etc) that we have skill. Our attack is awesome, espcially out wide as seen today, if we defend like today also we could go anywhere. We kept the Bronco's to 2 tries most of the match!

I think any chance we had this year was blown away by the crap start to the season.

If we'd won the ones we should have and beaten the Dogs when we had them beat we would probably have finished top 4, had a great crack at winning our first semi and anything can happen from there.

As it is we will have to fight hard to make the 8.

Do we have the depth to win it ?

Games like that take their toll, and we have to play like that every week to have a chance.

Our defense was was awesome today excluding the 1st 12 minutes and the last minute the broncos did not score a try. I think were going to have to stop giving sides starts tho, thats not a good pattern to get into.

IMO the Anderson failure was worth it just for the fact we got Kimmorley. Before that we never had a real organisational player, as Dykes was an extreme fluke in 2001 (as proven in years gone by) and M.Johns was only going to have a limited lifespan to assist Campbell.

Your right Sharkies all The way, it wiuld of been nice. We have to keep on moving forward, just take little baby steps each week. I mean results from orher games went our way today so that has push us into the 8, a bit of a bonus there. Now we must maintain our position and try to keep on improving. I knew at the start of the season the boys would be competative, its just taken time to click but we are playing good footy at the moment. This is only a taste of whats to come..

I agree with Hulka

Probably not this year. Smart buys and luck with injuries will see us looking good next year.

We dont need Rogers! He would have caused more bad than good, wanting and getting a spot he wants but is not nexessarily good for. We are doin well with the players we have :)

Yes we did.
He brings something to a team. Stuff that can't be purchased cheaply.
