There was one about AFL so here's one about union. Do you like rugby union?

I don't, I find it very boring.

only at international or S12 level

I've watched a few club rugby games and they did nothing for me

Too many games are decided on penalties. No goal kicker your stuffed.

Watching the rah rah crowds getting excited over a successful penalty kick is one of lifes great mysteries.

I have only ever watched 2 games the semi and the final from the world cup last year. To me it is a bit boring but I would rate it higher than AFL.

I don't forget those brilliant kicks for touch from inside your own in-goal

Cheers.

Too much incentive for negative play in union IMO, such as kicking into touch from your in-goal, and penalties occurring at every second break-down.

And while union enthusiasts claim what makes it good is that everything's a contest for the ball, I don't find contesting the ball at the bottom of a ruck and maul all that appealling. I don't have x-ray vision. I'd prefer to see teams use the ball and launch attacking raids rather than be constantly contesting it. That's what league offers. League is pure attack against pure defense.

The only things that I like in union are those things that it shares with league, but they're few and far between.

Personally, I really like union, not as much as league, but it's easily my second favourate sport. Mostly I like the Super 12 and Internationals, but I watch easts in the Toohey's New cup some weekends to. It's just a very different game to league, everything is about the contest for the ball (something you don't have to worry about in league exept for 1 on 1 strips) and it is more about the set peices... Once you get into it it's great fun to watch, certainly not boring (unless your watching English club Rugby)! For me the only sport I'd class as boring would be NFL! Now THAT is boring! Who wants to watch a game that takes 4 hours to finish but only offers 60 mins of match time, with the the rest of the time spent spewing shit house commercials about lawn mowers and power-drills at you?!?!?!

cant stand union. Dont give it the time of day. Boring sport...
"the running game" yeah thats why the fullbacks and wingers kick the ball back every fricken time. I know union is about field position, but dont call it the running game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can be out-scored 3 tries to nil and still win purely on penalty goals.

A team won the WC on penalty goals.

Just for those reasons alone, I can't take it seriously.

Cheers.

Well not really... England beat Australia in the final 30 seconds of the second half of extra time with a feild goal    . Both teams scored 1 try each and both took alot of kicks at goal from penalties... But it was the WC final, so of course they were going to take any points on offer.
There is alot more time spent "off the ball" in union, but thats because of the positional game which results in lots of line-outs (which are great to watch if you enjoy union) and scrums (REAL scrums). When they do run the ball though, I find there is often alot more broken play in union and the tries that do get scored can be truly spectacular! But it's not anywhere near as clear cut as league and play can get bogged down, so I can see why alot of league fans have trouble with it.

Look at the semi between france and england. Johnny Wankason kicked 8 goals or something to win the game.
France scored one try and england none but were still hammered!!!!!!!!!!!!
