Stop listening to the fairies in poo poo’s Head.

If the fans had a say, DA wouldn’t of been punted. SK wouldn’t of been appointed. RS never would of been appointed and BA would of been sacked by now.
The fans do have a say if they want you condescending merkin. Read what I am saying carefully - I am talking about the most influential not the average punter.

They become a faction and influence the club. I've been seeing it first hand on this forum since well before Pou joined...and the other one that we can't mention.

Fans influence outcomes. Does it mean that the most popular outcome that all fans want will happen? No, but that wasn't the point that I f**ken made.

Nah he needs to fire up.

Wayne Bennett tells it like it is. You don't need to yell and scream for it to be fired up.

Wayne will call out referees when it is necessary and he will blame himself or his team when necessary. You don't win as many comps as he has and have the career he has had without being honest with everyone.

The fans just want to hear Brad mention that the referees are donkeys when they make clangers. Sure it will amount to nothing but whether right or wrong he needs to be the voice of the fans as well and if there has been something ridiculous happen in a game the fans are livid and they want that validation.

Wayne brings it up and he certainly doesn't "fire up" he just tells it like it is!

You are revising history again in a very transparent and hamfisted manner.

Based on the reactions of plenty on here (yourself included), there weren't any issues with signing him 3 or 4 weeks ago. In fact a lot you (yourself included) were suggesting he had done enough to be signed. Fair enough, change your mind but don't criticise others for doing exactly what you said you would do. That pretty shit form and the quickest way to lose any credibility you might have once had.

As for fans having "no control of their own club", don't make me laugh. Factional fans with nothing else going on in their pathetic lives are the people that have largely destroyed this club and made it impossible for management to make any sensible long term reforms that will result in sustained success. The temptation to keep muppets happy and make short term decisions that protect their job is far too great.

The only way we will ever be a force to be reckoned is to ensure that bonehead fans have absolutely ZERO f**ken control over any aspect of the club.

Spot on. The reason we are where we are is because of our own bonehead fans, idiots trying to run the football club with no clue and only self interest in the club.

No fans should be anywhere near running our club. They robbed us of being genuine contenders in 2016 and have set us years and years back.

The fact we have suffered like we have, and people still entertain the idea of these boneheads coming close to our club is absurd.

It's worked for plenty of coaches.

As far as whether or not it's working for Arthur, you can't isolate anything about the coach as the cause of our lack of success. The only year in Arthur's tenure that we've underachieved was 2018. This year we're back on track to finish where the squad is expected to.

Well to say we under achieved in 2018 is a bit of an understatement. And then to just re calibrate this year off of that is no good either, because coaches can turn shit around a lot quicker than is made out.
Bellamy had this to say about rebuilding "why do coaches talk about rebuilding years, it just gives the players an excuse to lose"
Look at what Des has done in Manly turned it around in no time.
2017 was really the odd year out.
Everything else Brad has done has been either mediocre or terrible.

Bennett's whole reputation comes off the back of having phenomenal talent from back in the day.
Parra is a special case, we have a docile playing group and if you let them have their way they are going to play that way every week.

I would like to see Peni play after being flat out slapped in the face 4 or 5 times on the side line by BA.

Once they’re board members they’re no longer fans. Blaming the clubs downfall on ‘fans’ is a copout you dopey f$&k.

he probably doesnt, because he has on field leaders that can fire the team up. Arthur doesnt have leaders. He cannot develop leaders and never has because he cannot. The players have no respect for Brad. He needs to find something. He is not going to find "analysis" because he is what he is in this regard. Find some passion.
Sounds like we need to buy some leaders, just like every club that lacks it.

The fans just want to hear Brad mention that the referees are donkeys when they make clangers.

I have heard him do that like with the binning of Siva a few weeks ago. Even when he talks about bad referring he is very soft and half arsed about it.

Arthur is also honest with his players. Does he need to be honest with the media as well? Even Wayne has learnt that it isn't worth the risk. That's why he says f**k all when they lose.

Don't you think it would be easier and cheaper for Brad Arthur to try to step up in this regard and become a leader himself. Fly off the handle for once up there in the box. Come down onto the side line and yell at someone.

Someone needs to slap BA in the face.

I think I would give Geoff Toovey a call.
He has fire in his belly.
He has good success.
He has a high profile.

Brad has literally zero profile. He will never be able to recruit elite talent because they want to play for high profile coaches that have ambition. Brad has no profile and no ambition.
He is like that coach from the Gold Coast. Mr Nobody.
Get Toovey. Firey merkin.

I'm not basing it off last year, I'm basing it off the fact an average squad should win half its games.
Bellamy had this to say about rebuilding "why do coaches talk about rebuilding years, it just gives the players an excuse to lose"
We haven't had rebuilding years either. Last year we were tipped as premiership contenders. The only reason we blooded a few youngsters is because we knew we would be f**king a lot of merkins off.
Look at what Des has done in Manly turned it around in no time.
He's one of the best coaches the game has seen, for getting short term success. I'd be surprised if he's still at Manly when one of the rich clubs decide they need a new coach.
2017 was really the odd year out.

2017 we overachieved, 2018 we underachieved, everything else has been mediocre.

We're better off with two more years of mediocre (which means average) than taking a punt on an unknown quantity who turns out to be below average.

Yelling and carrying on isn't leadership. Bellamy gets away with it because he has a calm head taking control on the field.

Brad Arthur is a man who doesn't make excuses, and I feel that he thinks that criticising the referees is making excuses.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I believe that he sees things that way.

Having said that - Brad, if you read these forums, I, for one, will happily support you as long as I can, because my biggest fault is my blind loyalty.

But Brad, you need to lay down the law. This side looks too complacent to me.

You, as the leader, need to draw a line in the sand, and tell the boys, "Who wants to prove that they deserve another contract here?"

Ok, I know we are all upset, and have been for some time.

But no ability to recruit elite talent? Come on, man - that's not true:

Blake Ferguson
Junior Paulo (always there, or thereabouts, in conversation for Origin selection)
Keiran Foran
Nathan Brown
Anthony Watmough (age notwithstanding)
Mitchell Moses
Shaun Lane (his stats this season are elite-level)

Arthur has many areas of opportunity that need to be addressed, but he has, over the years, recruited well.

Yelling and carrying on isn't leadership.

It is so. It is exactly what this team needs. He has tried the soft friendly approach and the players have repeatedly shat on him with on and off the field disrespect. He needs to lay the boot in. Fly off the deep end.
He needs to get on the side line and fire the team up. He sits up in his box like he is coming up with solutions but he isnt, he is clueless.
