I've been wondering about that. Is it against the rules for the coach to run the water? If not why don't they do it more often? They could stand in the back line and coach the way the water boys do.
Well Coach Alfie will be defending in the line for Queensland in a few weeks

Well why keep picking these bludgers while leaving out young talent who will be with us going forward???

I have no idea...

Maybe Arthur trusts that the guys who will not be retained are professional enough to put in, so that we can maybe make the Finals?

I dunno.

I didn’t disagree? My point was how long a tenure you allow before success and how long after success do you allow a period of failure. But more importantly we need someone in place to monitor that and determine courses of action. We could have dumped BA in 2016 or last year or this year, or even not hired him in first place. Would you have trusted the people responsible to actually pick the best candidate?
He may not be the best coach, but could he be the best coach we could have now?
Bernie scared everyone else off when he walked in to the interview dressed in arse-less chaps.

An example of BA not being able to develop leadership is Corey Norman. A high profile signing, huge amounts of talent, play maker role, with us during his prime years...but seemed to go backwards as a leader on and off the field.

You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Trust me, I've tried.

Players with a lot of talent but a shit attitude are the absolute worst merkins to have at your club, because (most) other players can't help but look up to them, and so they get led astray. I think what made us persist with Norman so long was that he is a great trainer. But for most players, they need to finish training and go home and sleep for ten hours, not get on the nose beers with gangsters until four in the morning. But of it's ok for Corey it's ok for everyone else. Not a good influence to have in your club.

Whoever made the call to get rid of him showed good leadership, because we lost a lot of talent and experience when he left. But we are still a better club for it. Interesting that the Broncos already made that call, as did the 13 other clubs who didn't take him off our hands.

You make some good points Pou. As everyone knows I went off him a long time ago. However I think they thought they could change home like Siebold/Bennett have with Cody Walker.

I was never confident though. Very talented but the brain the size of a pea and highly immature.
