The Panthers are practically full strength, the Tigers have 7 first graders out....i honestly can't see how it is possible???

Penrith have just lost 2 games in a row to quality opposition, we have the first representative game in a weeks time, the whole Panthers side with the exception of the Kiwi + QLD player's must be a chance of making it and they are playing at their home ground in front of a sell out crowd.....

Is it possible to create a more daunting task for any team this year???

That said, the boys played a good second half against the team coming last on Sunday, so they would have a bit of confidence. They will be able to consolidate that confidence with a good solid hit out against the Panthers. It will be a good opportunity for the boys to try a few things.

I will be very pleased if they play well and try hard, regardless of the scoreline.

It should be a great forward battle, watching a couple of our young guns in Lima and Gibbs taking on the best pack in Rugby League would be worth admission itself.....

But as for the scoreline, i reckon we will get done by about 20......

Good luck trying to stop Puletua and Galuvao, not to mention Campbell and Wesser running around tiring forwards in the middle of the ruck. Panthers by a lot if the Tigers don't keep up.

honestly... no, i dont think we can win.

i just REALLY hope we dont disgrace ourselves. but i'm confident of that not happening. 8)

i dont think Puletua and Galuvao are as much as a danger as Clinton and Ross, especially Clinton. he tore us apart when we played them last.

I'm predicting a Tigers upset with a great forward pack; O'Neil, Sattler, Skandalis and with Hodgson at the back it's going to be close. Go the Tigers

that's alright.. right us off.. the tigers stand up when everyone goes against em..
if our forwards can stick with thiers or match them or heaven hoping get over the top of them panthers will struggle..
im looking for our forwards to really step up and make a name for them selves.. in particular gibbs and lima
their young fearless and don't know how to take a step backwards.. they'll throw themselves at the opposition forwards and give them a dose of their own medicine..
it will be a good game don't you worry about that..

Wouldn't write the Tigers off...... would value their chances more with a bit more beef up front but they've beaten lots of clubs when on paper they shouldn't come within 30..

Satts to have a big game against his former club, not enough to get the Tigers across the line. Panthers by 18

I think if we are within reaching distance at half time we will win.. All we need is a sniff and i think the boys will rise to the occasion.....

I would love to beat the panthers at home on friday night.
I think we are on the improve too but slowly.
I can't forget last year at penrith park. There forwards
made so many metre's and made us look so soft.
We are still giving easy metre's away in defenece and attack still
mediocre.

Panthers 36 Weststigers 0

I hope i'm way off the mark and we cause a huge upset like
the dogs last year.

I think we've caught them at as good a moment we could have hoped.
The Panthers arn't travelling all that well at the moment. Add the fact that a fair share of their team had two very tough games within 48 hours, & now they are at it again only 5 days later, then hell yes we have a shot.

If we can stay with them for 60 mins., then I'm hoping fatigue &/or self doubt will affect them. After all if you lose 2 in a row & can't seemingly put away a team (at home) you consider your inferior - I don't care who you are, your going to start wondering if this is a slump.

Pumped up Tigers in a boilover!

swampdonkey--the odds are all stacked against the mighty tigers. My main worry is to beat a team like the panthers you have to score about 30 points, and iam not to sure where their going to come from.We scored a couple of meat pies last week from cross field bombs--the panther wingers are pretty good at them .Our short kicking game is up the creek, cant remember to may return sets from grubers. Our centres are good defensivley, but couldnt run out of sight on a dark night. If we play like we did for 60mins against the broncos,we could give it a shake.I think sheens will have them playing up the middle and on the fringes, plenty of dummy half darts and plenty of high balls for wesser, who can be a bit shaky.got to complete our sets and starve penrith of the ball, maintain good field position--sounds pretty easy-but a big ask from a team with a rolls royce and a couple utes on the injured list.as longs as penrith dosnt blow them off the park early,i think they might give them a shake-we need the win badly, with draw over the next four weeks-go them tigers, wear your heart on your slieive
