THE Bulldogs have failed to have their axing from the National Rugby League finals overturned after a marathon meeting before the NRL board.
Bulldogs chief executive Steve Mortimer, legal representatives of the club and Rugby League Players Association president Tony Butterfield addressed the board during a four-hour meeting. But the club failed to have the NRL reverse its decision to dock the club 37 points and fine it $500,000 for breaching the NRL salary cap by $1 million over the past two seasons. The Bulldogs will meet tonight to decide whether to appeal against today's decision, which is their last chance of playing in the finals.
