Pleasing to see opposition supporters sticking up for Saints here .... we have done nothing wrong, and yet again News Limited are ripping into us.

No club in the NRL cops it from News more than Saints, and some of it (like this) is laughable.

And as Eventflow mentioned in his post above, less than 6 months ago they came up with that little ditty ... and yet they expect us to turn around and help them out a few months down the track? LOL.

The club has it's own program called Dragons TV, which airs regular items on the club website etc .. and with this Summertime program, once you've seen one, you've seen all 16 anyway.

They do all the clubs.

Its a good to see any footy on TV this time of year.

The only one's losing out are Dragons fans. What do they think of this?

I think it's a great show, i've been taping the episodes on IQ. It's been good to see the other teams but I was waiting for Saints tobe shown. Doust is a dribbler - this sort of program should be mandatory for the off season. Maybe it costs too much?

Just the start of a long season that's going to be littered with shots from the telegraph. Also to those fans from other clubs suggesting our fans are missing out I disagree. I watched the program once and swore to myself I'd never watch it again because of how cheaply produced it comes across and more importantly how boring it is.

Well, I was waiting for the drags to come on, but not over worried.
reading between the lines Doust is basically saying that this mob were pricks last time round and they've done their dash.
fair enough.

In any case, the Dragons owe Tapp, News Ltd & the Daily farkin' Tellalie absolutely nothing.

Betcha matey's just p!ssed that he wasn't able to make money using league's most famous brand for free.

And I wouldn't put it past the Tellingfibs to lay a dead cat near Kogarah just to try to get a pic of Jamie Soward driving past it, thus resulting in the headline, "Heartless Dragons Slay Suburban Pets". I trust when anyone refers to a DT employee as a 'journalist' that they're taking the mickey?

Maybe i am being harsh on them....... Maybe they just are afraid that the cameras might expose thier one new attacking move they have learnt for this year to go with the one attacking move they had last year.

the fact that 15 clubs could fit them in suggests that Saints could have too, but it doesn't mean they are wrong.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was more like 7 or 8 other clubs.

They do all the clubs.
Not sure about that. Perhaps Saints are just the club they wanted more than most. Tapp certainly seems to be using them to get some press.

Have a look in the Dragons forum. Most Saints fans are very satisfied with their access to players and news about the club. This article is largely viewed as another silly attack against the club.

The "won't someone think of the fans" is the good old Helen Lovejoy tactic, and one that is often used by disgruntled media when they don't get their way.

Regarding Tapp and his Production Company, Saints gave his Summertime show an opportunity in the past. Saints simply said no this time - and made it clear months ago. Tapp goes to the media and it's suddenly news all these months later - neat publicity for an outsourced production that might not even be around next year.

As for bringing up Bennett's name... As far as I can see, he involves himself in much larger media events. Getting behind the Tri-Nations, lending himself to NZ in the last World Cup, and more recently the All Stars match. These are huge media events that producers of little TV shows can only imagine being involved with.

Add to that the multitude of media and fan committment that the club does every week, and it's not hard to see that the only whingers are those smarting because they were overlooked.

Apparently its just generic interviews and training shots of clubs, and weight sessions, and players saying "we will do well this year". All the episodes are the same, just different jerseys and talking heads.

This is what is officially the synopsis of the show:
Features interviews with players & coaches, provides insight into the “science” being adopted by clubs in training elite athletes and a look at what is happening behind the scenes during the off season.

But the actual synopsis is better described by Goddo. They ask them dumb questions (some of them are not even questions but statements that the players just repeat). Every player starts answering with: "Yea, it's a good time for the club, we play some good footy, [insert coach name here] has been riding us pretty hard, but I enjoy my footy, it's been a tough pre season, I've been working on recovering from my injury". I was interested to see it because it said they were going to look at the science behind it, I thought there would be training tips and such.

Instead it's just interviewing players and coaches and an occasional loop of gym and track scenes plays with a voice over of the interview. Trust me, the Dragons didn't lose much, at all in fact.

Could be Willow - thought the article mentioned the Dragons were the only onces - hence the article.

If fox sports are that concern about the fans, then they should have had a look what they done last year , by mocking a club eg the dragons by showing the puff the dragon segment , and now they whinge the dragons refused.
You are right. And you are still thick as a besser brick.

The dragons are just a bunch of whinging, arrogant, sore losers. This club disgusts me.

 rich coming from a fan of the Eels...

Oi. He's probably a Catalans fan!

The article says every club in Sydney except the Dragons. But I have never watched the show and never had any interest in watching it.

The most I've heard about it was today, when the tragedy of it all made the virtual newstands of these forums.

^ Because its either the Storm or some other club that News corp has a vested interest in and makes no money out of belittling them like they do the Dragons.

Sure, St George copped some stick last year, and some of it was justified. But the lengths Merkinfield and his cronies went to attacking the club showed an agenda to sell papers by stiring up Dragons fans and jelousy/hatred from other clubs.

Hell, the paper is run by Bulldogs and Sharks fans, two camps that have no love for the red V.

Eg, remember the Masons locked out of Round 26? They had NRL passes which clearly say not valid for sold out matches. Ok, buy a ticket if you want to go that badly. BUT, no one in that family was going to do that when none of them went for the dragons...

The telly had to dress them up for a photo shoot (and one bloke was wearing a chicks jersey). Typical News Corp trying to fabricate a story to stir people up to sell advertising (they don't sell news).

They do the same thing with politics... Ooh the evil boat people terrorists are comming to get you, but think of their children! Or are they? Discuss with our expert. Opinionated article followed by a blog full of vicious angry opinionated Biggots and fairies arguing both cases, meanwhile uncle rupert laughs all the way to the bank.

Just don't read or visit their websites and you will be fine. (Daily Telegraph, Courier Mail, Herald Sun, The Australian et cetera). Hopefully now that the commission looks like its going ahead, we won't have to put up with their hands all over the ownership of the game.
