You will never compete in this comp when you're up against teams full of superstars like Roosters,Manly,Melbourne and Souths.Sometimes an average side of good players will get there with a great coach to guide them,but very rarely.
We are nowhere near these sides at the moment in player talent and coaching.We need to start signing players that are in their prime not fringe first graders or we'll always be at best mid-table.
The days of bringing your juniors through and relying on them to develop into class players are over,they just get offered more by another team and walk.
It's all about money these days!

I agree. We need to follow what the top sides are doing and poach players.

Maybe not but after coaching Castleford to 1 win and 18 losses in his last job I'd imagine his options would have been limited. I think I'd rather McGregor than Millward.

He had a pretty good record before that...definitely better than any NSW Cup coach, probably better than some NRL coaches...

haha,.. good point.. tactics from 1982 are still better than none at all i guess..

Ask any Canberra fan and they won't say many bad things about Williams. He is a great buy and they were sad to see him go. He will be great for the Dragons and will keep Kyle on his toes, or other way around, Kyle will keep him on his toes. Either way good for the club.

As for the coaches, Farrar had a star studded line up and failed so it really depends on the coach and how he gets them ready. Price is complete rubbish and if losing to Parra and Tigers doesn't get him sacked then losing first few games next year won't either. Don't bank on that.

Samoa looked much better in the World Cup than when they played Tonga earlier in the year when Price was coach. No suprises there.

Could this be a reflection of club coach Steve Price

Could be a mix between price and the fact the past 2 years have been off seasons for dragons so its a 'safe bet' at this stage without kicking a ball. Same with eels. I feel both dragons and eels from the bottom teams are going to be the most improved due to fixing the holes in their rosters.

I honestly think Tigers and Raiders will be the bottom 2.

Dragons should run about 10th in my mind.
