Its been going on for an eternity... we have have had every rumour imagineable as to how Saints are going to deal with the coaching issue. But if the latest rumours are correct, it appears that we are about to reach a conclusion.
The most plausiable solution to the coaching issue has been the suggestion that Nathan Brown deserves to be promoted. This has always been seen as a big risk, he only took over the Jersey Flegg side this year. But as time goes on, the rumour has gained momentum.
Anotheroption was Ian Millward but this suggestion appears to be out of the question with Millward's renewed committment to St Helens and the fact that he has family considerations to take on board.
Then there were all the other candiadates... Phil Gould, Brian Johnson. Mick Potter and so on.
But the Nathan Brown rumour has persisted.
I expected Farrar to stay with Brown coming into 1st grade as a co-coach. While this rumour has had some merit, it now appears that Farrar has been shown the door.
There's simply too much mud slinging going around for the rumour of Farrar's demise to have no legs. When (or if) Farrar goes, it seems that he won't leave alone with some support staff also being told to shove off.
Its no surprise to hear that the club has acted to hang on to Brownie who has been approached by another club for an assistant coaching role. By offering himthe head coach job at Saints, Brown will naturally reject any other offer.
Now here's the latest proposal. Laurie Daley has been asked to act as assistant coach to Nathan Brown.
An announcement, one way or the other,is expected within days.
