As i said on another thread Dugan was concussed from the head knock he took from Packer and never recovered ....That"s why he was on the wing in a effort to keep him out there . I have been told he is in doubt for the Sharks game as well .

Yes I must admit when he got out of the tackle he definitely had the wobbly boot.

Was quite sharp prior to that tackle, but the fact that is such a fierce competitor meant that he never going to stop, even if he was fuzzy in the head and not being able to think quick enough the heat of the action.

And why was he kept out there. Such a stupid question. No Joel Thompson to give him a breather is probably one reason. One of the problems of trying to manage the reduced interchange.

I always had a feeling with the media saying we have too many outside backs to go into the first grade squad that Mary may confuse himself and not know the right way to go.
Not sure our coaching staff yet have or can work out the right back 5 and their best position outside FLO who deserves to be a walk up start.
Even with FLO I am not sure they know which side suits his game best. In 2010-2014 he was a gun on the right side. 2015 defensive compressed structure confused him and injury stifled him.
The KIWIS play him on the left side late last year and does well.
No I am confused which is his better side..no wonder the coaches are.

And I will say again not sure Mann was a great signing but he is a Dragons now and I will support him and I think he has some game but not the starring role in our backline. One double pump cut out pass for a try does not make a star.

He did not look fully comfortable in the centres at the Storm and did OK or better for them when put on the wing (defensively and finishing off tries).

So based on that and unless some reserve grade wingers knock down the door to be selected then I still believe 1. Dugan, centres lafai & Aitken, Mann and Flo are our best fit wingers in the short term or Matautai for Mann whoever you prefer in attack.

Reverting back to last year's structure will produce the same results. 2nd worst attack in the comp. If we are happy to rely on defence only that is fine.

I thought the whole purpose of the moving Dugan from fullback in favor of a ballplayer was to create more options in attack. Need I remind you of one game last season when the attack was very good. The game against the Tigers..... You tell me, what was different about the team that day?

Your 2nd last sentence says it all. The tigers.

It's ok. You don't have to answer. That was the only game last season in which Widdop didn't play. I would love to see a decent, organizing halfback like Elgey team up with Benji. I feel the points would flow. Not sure about Hutchinson.

Who had thrashed the Warriors the week before but regardless, you didn't answer the question.

That perfectly answered the question. Tigers were the 5th worst defensive side and taking an isolated game against them and suggesting our attack was fixed is foolish. They also nearly beat us and scored 30 points. Does that mean our defence was shit last year because of that single game?

Hahaha. Now let's visit the warriors game when benji went off injured early and we proceeded to slaughter them. Or we could go to the game following the tigers one where we scored 0 points while benji was on the field. Here you go always making it a benji v widdop argument but your argument is seriously flawed!

You're probably right.

But it's a moot point. Widdop has been appointed our long term captain so the number 6 jersey is his. Period.

If we are in the market for a halfback, he will partner Widdop. Nothing you say will change this. And the 300k offer to Benji is exactly what the club feels his worth as a 7 is. And they would be right.

If he wants to earn what he's worth, he needs to be playing as a 6 and that will most likely be somewhere else as long as Widdop is here.

True. I believe in that Warriors game the score was already 10-0 when Benji went off. Without Johnson they were even more of a shambles than the Dragons were without Benji. And that was a complete shambles!

All I'm saying is I'd like for it to be given a chance. See how it goes. You think the answer is to get rid of Benji for someone like Elgey (and I agree, that may be a good combo) but I feel a Benji-Elgey combo could be deadly for enemies, not just an improvement.

Benji did go on record in NRL 360 and say he was offered the captaincy last season but turned it down because he considered it disrespectful to players who had been with the club for a long time.

Still, I like your reasoning. "Yes, you are right but it doesn't matter. This is how it is and that can't be changed."

What team do you support? It's pretty obvious you don't want the Dragons to win.

It was actually 0-0 but that is semantics. One thing you forget to mention was the other players missing when benji was out as well as the oppositions we faced in those games, one being the comp runners up at home. Benji is also older and will likely be prone to more injuries and longer stints on the sideline. An Elgey and Benji combo could be deadly but so would a widdop Elgey combo and Widdop is not the one with a contract finishing at seasons end.

I find this Widdop situation eerily reminiscent of Barrett. Both good players without doubt but both s##t playmakers, without a doubt.

There is no need to revert to bagging a player because you can't win an argument.

Firstly, what do they say (a little mean but anyway) "Arguing on the internet is like the special Olympics. Even if you win you're still geniused". I'm not trying to "win" an argument with you. I'm merely venting my frustration.

Secondly, I merely pointed out the facts. If you still "win", congratulations but it doesn't change the facts.

Finally, it's patently obvious. Barrett was a good player but a s**t playmaker. Widdop is a good player but a s**t playmaker. Dugan is a very good player but a s**t playmaker.

Sure - if you can convince management to strip Widdop of the captaincy, tell him to look for another club next year and offer Benji 600k to be our 6 while we find another halfback, be my guest.

Good luck with that.

I know. You already said it. What I said is true but it doesn't matter. This is way it is and that won't be changed.

So I was wondering which team you support?

I've vented enough. Just remember, Widdop is a good player but a s**t playmaker.

BrissyRedV: So far according to the NRL Benji has 1 line break assist and 0 try assists. Widdop is 0 and 0. After this Sunday Benji is going to go further ahead. I jut hope by round 6 Widdop won't still be 0 and 0..... because in that case we will only be able to conclude that Benji is literally, an "infinitely" better playmaker.

I go for the Dragons, and the players that have been chosen to wear the jersey. And seeing Widdop is our captain, I support him 100%.

Which team will you support if and when Benji plays elsewhere?

How can you say that you have pointed out facts when the majority of your last half a dozen posts have been subjective?

I have raised many points of fact again and again that refute your posts and all you can come up with is calling us geniused and that your opinion is widdop and Barrett were shit play makers. The facts are, widdop is contracted to us for 2017, benji is not. Both are premiership winning 5/8s. Widdop is captain, benji is not. Widdop is younger and less injury prone.
