Oh dear Nathan Green, maybe Mary thinks he can do better and teach him how to play properly.

I'm sure that's Mary's thinking that if Duges goes down he has Green who he can move out there from the backrow but I think I'd even prefer stanley as he can cover that and if Benji goes down Green is gonna make one ugly halfback! I have only seen Green play twice in the backrow for the Cutters but he went pretty well, not to NRL standard but looked to have promise as opposed to when he plays centre. He may have been playing well since, maybe someone can shed some light on that?

As much as we have all been critical of Stanley, he can cover a number of positions. 1-7, plus 13. Don't think too many other teams in the NRL have such a player

I'd go with 1 - 17 from that list. Style is our best defensive option should the Duges be ruled out or go down during the game, he can also cover any position bar prop.
I don't really care at this point if we make the 8 or not but it would be great if we were the team to keep the Broncs out of the 8, we owe them big time. Be good also to bomb the hell out of Hodges and prove him to be not quite the revelation at fullback some think he is.

Benji, Dugan cleared to play Broncos

RUGBY LEAGUE

Benji Marshall

Star Dragons pair Benji Marshall and Josh Dugan have been cleared of serious damage to their respective injured ankles, with both named in coach Paul McGregor's side for Friday's must-win match against the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium.
Marshall left the field in the 56th minute of the Dragons's 34-6 victory over the Titans after injuring his right ankle just after half-time, while Dugan also failed to finish the match after injuring his left ankle late in the game.
Dragons performance director Andrew Gray said both players would be monitored through the week and given until kick-off to prove their fitness after scans on Monday cleared them of serious damage.
Dugan was confident on Tuesday that he won't be forced to miss the must-win clash.
"The scans were inconclusive which means it's basically positive for me and I'll be right to play on Friday," Dugan said.
"It was actually more of a shin injury, so it's just a matter of managing it through the week.
"It'll be up to the medical staff to decide whether they keep me off my feet until Friday or whether I'll just do the captain's run [on Thursday]."
The Dragons have a dismal record against Brisbane with just one win in their past 10 matches, with six of the losses coming at Suncorp Stadium.

They sit level with the Broncos on 26 competition points but, despite racking up 34 points in consecutive weeks, their dismal for and against at -21 will likely be a factor when the numbers are crunched at the end of the season.
Dugan said the Dragons were aware that they must not only win their final two matches, but win them big.
"For and against is going to be a big factor in making the eight if we win our next two games, so we're definitely going to be looking to win games and win them comfortably," Dugan said.
"They [Brisbane] had a good win against Newcastle last week, so we've got our work cut out for us but the boys are coming into it with some confidence and I think we can handle it."
Dugan was frank when asked if the match was season-defining.
"Yeah, I think so. We had a few tight games with top-four sides but our last few games have been against teams out of the eight," Dugan said.
"The Broncos are still fighting for a spot in the eight, so it'll be our season or Brisbane's season and that gives us that extra motivation."
With the Illawarra Cutters enjoying a final-round bye in the NSW Cup, McGregor has also added forwards Nathan Green, Bronson Harrison and Jack Stockwell to the 17 that beat the Titans, as part of a 20-man travelling squad.

This has the potential to be one of the games of the season
Both teams are in season best form, both must win and the crowd should be huge and include a healthy proportion of Dragons supporters.

Kick to their right hand corners & make him run to his left so as to stop him from using his right sidestep. Also bomb Vidot.

Wrote our season off weeks ago as not to be too disappointed when the eventual happens.Going to the Storm Rooters game on sat night, hoping to have a spring in step with a win the night before or sit through the game having no interest in league for the rest of 2014.

Even if we don't end up making the 8, it would be great in itself just to end the Broncos season. Should be a good game of footy though, there's a lot to play for.

Agreed. They have ended our season plenty of times including 2009 & 2011, both here in Brisbane. I don't even want to talk about 1992 & 1993, and I'm sure there have been plenty of others. It's time for us to get one back.

Yes bombs away at Vidot and target him in defense, might catch him with a loose carry as he's always the first guy to hit it up on the second tackle off their line.

They don't have Lockyer this time to save them with some ugly left footed wonky field goal.

We should be treating the next two games as our semifinals, hopefully finishing the year well.

I never give up on the boys but must admit Im not that confident this week...going to be a tough ask, especially as always the Broncos get that xtra day off and we have the shorter turn around....I wonder how many games they have played this year where they havnt had a 7 day break...not bloody many I'll bet....

You have every reason not to be confident but Brisbane too has no reason to feel at ease.
These are two evenly matched teams IMO and I can't wait too see how it pans out.
They who hold their nerve best should win.
Let's hope the Panthers game taught us a lesson.
