The latest update on signings has Parra rumored to be signing Daniel Russel & Drew Dalton.

I know Russell, he was our gun juniour a few years back but Penrith signed him straight from our Ball Cup side, his brother played with us in 2001 & 2002 but had too many injuries and was cut this year. Daniel is a good half/5/8 and can kick goals.

Who the heck is Drew Dalton?

Is this a case of Russell instead of Leuleuai and Dalton instead of Davis (with a bit left over in petty cash)?

I think it's a case of using up the second tier cap by having half a dozen or so that make up a part time squad. Last season we had the likes of Jim Curtis, Peter Ellis, Fred Peterson, Ronnie Prince, Steve Mowbery and Nathen McMillan in that sqaud., this year looks like being a more youthful look which is good to see.

Dalton is not a 5/8. He is a Backrower who got released from Magpies because he was lazy, he didn't try at training and then because of that he didn't get a run and then he tried less and less. If he gets his head screwed on right he is a decent player but until he starts putting in the hard yards at training he will go nowhere fast.

thanks nick thats very encouraging
No worries.

He has a HEAP of talent but is throwing it away by being lazy. Don't expect to see him play First Grade or maybe even start Premier League if he doesn't improve his attitude 10-fold.

Did we lose Jim Curtis and Fred Peterson? I hope not.

Jim Curtis to Manly and I believe Freddy Peterson retired.

no big loss considering that they're in their late 20's!

Exactly. We should not have guys in Prems that are at the club solely to play Premier League. All of our lower graders should be potential first graders and Curtis and Peterson are not. (Although Curtis will probably get a game at Manly)

when Manly find out how much of a dud their 5/8 is they'll probably put Curtis there and throw him the captaincy :D

he'll do a better job.
