Dufty to Fullback/Dugan to Centre

Dufty was amazing today, just brilliant, if Duges was in his position when Matt scored that try he wouldn't have got past Tapau. Why don't we just let Dugan play reserve grade or he can piss off to Cronulla now, Aitken, Lafai and Mann are ahead of him in the centre position. Dugan should be dropped and Mary can give him his farewell game in Round 26 against the Dogs. Credit to the entire team played well today.

Seriously? We have a SOO/Kangaroos centre and you want to play him in reserves?

Knowing Mary he will probably play Mann at center Duges at fullback . IMO Duffy and Mann should be in the team . Also a mention for Nene he has stepped it up , a couple of weeks ago I was calling for him to be dropped ...

You weren't the only one. I did the same.
That catch of the bomb.
When manly was making a comeback was the turning point.
He played strong.

Great debut by Dufty, but I just hope everyone cuts him some slack when he makes the inevitable rookie errors......and he will....... it's just part of learning. Today was just one game and against a team that didn't test him out positionally or defensively so he is going to have a few bad days ahead and we need to keep faith when he does.

However, I just can't see Mary playing him at FB if Duges is back next week. In fact, if both Duges and Aitken are good to go next week, Dufty will most likely find himself back in reggies or at best, taking Mann's place on the bench.

Great debut for Dufty today, agree with all your comments.
I'm so happy baldie took the initiative to start him.

During the week I was pretty sure hat he would have thrown Flo at F/B and moved Mann to the wing, so thank you Mary and I hope you stick with the kid with No.1 on his back and Duges at 3 for the rest of the season.

Double barrel benefit
1. Dufty gave us another dimension at FB - electrifying!
2. Nightingale showed what an accomplished winger and finisher he is playing his specialist position.
Could easily have scored 3 or 4 today.

Imagine Ben Hunt advancing on a retreating defensive line with Frizell on his inside shoulder, Sims on his outside and Dufty sweeping around the back. Good grief.

You have got it right lad. Do not forget Widdop in the equation. Exciting times ahead for Matty and all of the Dragon supporters. This lad offers more than talent to us.He is the future of our brand of football .Good on you Matty Dufty a St George junior of course.

Loved they way he played...similar to billy slater(not saying his slater)..quick supports well great link player..speed and always looked a danger today.. No coincidence we scored so many points.. He was involved in several tries today.. The more he plays the better he will become.. Must remain in the team
Was thinking the same .....

The other thing I noticed was Dufty was constantly sniffing around in support the entire 80 mins. He will score plenty as support runner if he keeps that up and players know he'll be there.
He is definitely a keeper at FB.
Duges to Right Centre, happy days.
Mann as 17 and Aitken to keep Lafai, Nene and Nighty honest.
C'mon Mary give him another crack against Newcastle next week.

I loved Dufty debut and like most of the posters on here I want him getting more game time before the end of the season but his defence has yet to be deliberately targeted by opposition forwards. Obviously his body will bulk up over time but has he got the brains to make the right defensive choices? I hope he has and if so ladies and gentlemen we will have a superstar on our hands.

Please Mary don't drop him for Duges next week, put Duges in as centre and it gives us options if we are struggling in defence to swap Duges / Dufty around.

Yep.

Don't just focus on the specific things he did. Having a genuine speedster with speed, footwork and a decent pass sweeping from the back just asks more questions from the defence. It has the effect of spreading the defence, which in turn gives more room to Widdop our main playmaker, and our forwards who again could punch up the middle like the early rounds.

Dufty brings everything a FB should to the table, but scoring 50 against a top 4 side was certainly a pleasant surprise.
