Keen on Triple Dee. Drawn well, loves the track and distance and will improve 2nd up. Hard to beat. Might take the exacta with Newton's Rings. Nice run last start as was Orpington in his first go in oz.

Lantwin and Pentelikon thereabouts.

Racenet Preview -

Race 8 THRIFTY WELTER HANDICAP (1400m) at 4.30pm

Joice’s thoughts – Lottery. Going with Pentelikon as runs her best races here and is coming off a very tough seventh behind Mnemosyne at WFA last Saturday. Safe to assume that will prove a very strong form-line and the 1400m is perfect. Will be right in the firing line at good odds so worth something in a tricky race. Triple Dee is another than will get a good run in transit and goes great second-up. Lantwin is the class runner and will give them something to catch – if he gets out big odds may be worth something small as well.

Payne’s thoughts –I like Newton’s Rings who is ready to win now after looming last time before peaking on his run with 50m to go. He’s a handy horse and will get the run of the race from the draw and should be a great each-way bet. Orphington did a good job at his Australian debut last week and will be hard to hold out here while Triple Dee races well here and has a great record second-up.

Joice’s Tips – Pentelikon (14), Triple Dee (11), Lantwin (1)
Payne’s Tips – Newton’s Rings (7), Orphington (9), Triple Dee (11)
