Dvd recorder digital channels help

A friend of mine txt me saying she brought a hd dvd recorder but is unable to pick up hd channels like GO. She is using an old tv with the red, yellow, white cords.. Anyone know how to help?

Rather obvious question, but did she tune it properly?

Do you know the brand and model of the DVD recorder while we are at it?

Where did she bring it from? Sorry pet hate of mine ;-) .

Go isnt a HD channel, it is a digital channel. She needs a digital tuner to be able to access it. Does her TV have a digital tuner? Did she get the digital channels previously? If it only has compsoite connections, it would most probably be an older TV without a digital tuner & she would need to get a digital set-top box to access digital channels.
