COLTS GRADE

F/Time Score : Burleigh 50 def Easts 28
1/2 Time Score: Burleigh 24 - Easts 8.

Scorers: (Burleigh - tries) T Tripp - 3; D boyd; H Allsop; the winger (no5) did not get his name; J Papworth; R Perry and W Sewak.
T Tripp 7 from 9 goals.
defeated
(Easts - tries) J Karklis - 2; T Corbo (no 9) - 2; A Borey; M Elley.
A Borey 2 from 2; S Beldham 0 from 4 goals.

Both the full backs and hookers from both sides in this match were very impressive, with Tim Tripp from Burleigh (fullback) the standout for mine.

A GRADE

F/Time Score: Burleigh 40 def Easts 34
1/2 Time Score: Burleigh 16 - Easts 12

Scorers: (Burleigh - Tries) Nathan Francis (no 2) -2; A Fielder; D Kennedy; N Antonik; J Fenwick; M Anderson.
D Kennedy 6 from 7 goals.
defeated
(Easts - tries) W Imo; M Kelly - 2; P Dennis; M Eaborn; R Graham - 2;
M Kelly 3 from 7 goals.

Burleigh were a lot more organised in this game then their oppenents even though Easts scored first in both halves, no real standouts from the winners, just a good team win. They did go to sleep in the last 15 - 20 minutes to let Easts score several late tries to make the score look better. The number 8 from Easts - josh Griffiths, I think his name was, was very good when he was one, made lots of meters and broke tackles all over the place.
The most interesting thing to come out of this match was Jeffery turning up, in a Mixwell cap???half way through the game

QLD CUP

F/Time Score: Burleigh 46 def Easts 20
1/2 Time Score: Burleigh 22 - Easts 10

Scorers : (Burleigh - Tries) F Anderson; R Cressbrook - 2; A Lang -2; D Hicks; B McConnell - 2; S Cooke.
R Cressbrook 5 from 9 goals.
(Easts - Tries) S Beattie; M Lockyer; M Allen; N Murphy.
D Campbell 2 from 4 goals.

The main thing out of this game for me was the total lack of anything positive from Darren Smith of Easts, he did not do squat, Easts seemed to be very disorganised and ill-disciplined as they must have copped a caning in the penalties (I did not keep count.)
The only negative from Burleigh, imo, was the way their trainers were on the field for virtually the whole game and they were blatantly coaching the team from just behind the frontline.

Apart from putting up with the Easts fans   , it was another good day there. they have however bumped up the price of the programs to $2.50  :( as the bloke on the gate said that they are only buying 140 of them a weekend and this price allows them to break even.
cheers

Bris Eel at a footy game? - yeah I'd like to see that ;-)

The worrying thing about your report Bris is that it's only a matter of timebefore Geoffrey tries to latch onto Redcliffe. He's running out of clubs......

Interesting re Darren Smith. I was hoping he might be the first Qld Cupper to make Origin.

smart arse   8) at least i've been to a game this weekend, unlike some, who've been swanning around out in the western areas of our fine state. and on yesterdays form, i would not even pick him for easts next week let alone origin.

No matter how hard I tried I couldn't convince Peter Leis to talk to Geoffrey seeing Pete had a year at Wests I thought they may have something in common. I quickly stopped the joke before Peter whacked me one.

I know one thing Brothers-Valleys need to improve at O'Callaghan Park is their gate keepers they were keeping cars lined up for 100's of metres and blocking traffic on Zillmere Road. :)

I don't know how often Redcliffe supporters don't travel Ox.

And I was also having a crack at two forumers who were manning the gate.

They did the same thing against Wynnum in the first round.

One of them is Jim Lenihan and the other is strength & conditioning guru :? :?  Mitch Kochonda. They were doing it last year when i was there.

I dont know when the QRL will implement the 3 shirt system (orange shirt - trainer, Yellow shirt - messages & blue - extra trainer) that the NRL & NSWRL do which stops it from happening

Life is going well, went out to watch the Bears v Easts game, unimpressed like everyone about darren Smith.
Am involved in league down here which is good.

I have one problem: my father taped over the Brothers-Valleys v Souths-Logan game before I got a chance to watch it. Can anybody help me with a copy as I think it might be the only chance i get to see them on ABC this year.
