PDF's are generally made so as not to be edited. Generally a PDF document is made using some other program i.e. Word and then converted to PDF to lock that document from being changed. This is the reason why commercial printers etc use PDF's as they are very stable.

My advice would be to talk to whoever sent you the PDF and ask them to send you the document in its original format. Otherwise, you can get some software from Adobe that costs an absolute bomb and make some modifications.

The other option is that some later PDF's allow you to cut and paste from them. If you can do that then cut and paste the document into Word.

You can edit PDF's with Adobe Acrobat. Not the reader...the full program.

Yeah, it does cost a packet...but...you can find software on the internecks if you know how or know people.
