That wasn't my point! I want to know why he would not want to be coached by Taylor as opposed to be ok with Arthur?
Some people get a bad reputation (fairly or not) and it sticks.

Moley honestly thought they'd announce the new coach on a weekend :?
Taylor is 42, Arthur is 39.........massive difference there.
Yeh but arthurs has shown his potential i mean look at manlys forwards and defence they are just so good. Sure taylor also has done the same thing for roosters but arthur to do that who's what only a rookie coach is a great potential plus he's more respect from players than taylor
Manly have been strong for many years. He has done jack shiiit

Or how about this for a novel concept. None of us get to observe what a coach/assistant coach actually does at all training sessions, and we don't actually know how much a coach has contributed to what we see on the field.
I'm perpetually amazed by the number of people that can be so *certain* that a coach/player is shit / magnificent.

Lol
No way man, there's stacks of 'in the know experts' in here. Just ask them....

Agree that us slobs watching from the stands or on TV are unable to judge a coach, but it's pretty easy to judge a player in most facets of play.
About the only player quality you can't see from the stands is 'organising ability'.
League supporters would be a boring bunch if they continually sat on the fence mumbling about how they are wildly indifferent.
Barry - you can probably judge a coach by the results you see on the paddock as well, as well as the turnover off the paddock.
A good coach will have a defined game structure, run some kind of attacking plays, and have a defensive structure.
In that regard, both Hagan and Anderson were good coaches.
But then you look at how their recruitment efforts fared, and you realize they were a few eggs short of the dozen in that regard.
Kearney was like compound interest on bad debt.
Ricky doesn't have any attacking or defensive structure, and can't develop a player recruitment system - but can certainly sack somebody. We got the best out of him IMO - clear line in the sand and the chance for someone to start fresh next year.
Board meeting on Tuesday
