I can't deal with the paranoia in this thread any more. Fair dinkum, more hysteria than Salem circa 1692.

Will revisit when the coach is named.

In the meantime, I suggest you lot stop reading the papers.

All the hating on Taylor because of the punch thing??

It's one of 2 things: either he learned from that mistake and is better for it. OR he's an idiot and will do it again.

We all talk about how we need to take a risk and sign a player who has 'baggage' because that's the way to get a talent to a struggling club - but when we do the same thing with a coach people are blowing up.

Strange.

Taylor is one of the few blokes out there with not only a proven record in terms of taking a losing team and giving them direction on the paddock - he ALSO has a proven record in terms of building a club from a rabble to strength.

Very confused by the hatred towards him. Was also confused as to the Arthur love? He has neither proven record - would have been a major gamble. He might be better at both things one day? But I think we needed to take the safe option as a club right now - couldn't have a 5th dud in a row when it comes to building talent levels at the club. The last 4 duds have left us in horrible shape.

i too find the opportunity taken to kick taylor despite the forum polls suggesting he is the overwhelming favourite choice to be quite odd. the mad monday incident is played out alot worse than it was and it was some time ago now

i was against taylor and arthur's nominations in the first place because i could feel something like this would come back to bite us due to their past associations with the club and past administrations.

but whichever one we choose, we HAVE to support 100% now. hopefully seward can step forth now take ownership and let sharpe sink into the background only to be heard of at every agm

Jason Taylor will do fine.He took Souths to the finals in his first year.bombed out second and was one win off a top 8 spot in his 3rd.
Did anyone see the squad he had? You may recognise the names but keep in mind most where either old men or just young guys coming thru at the time.Guys like peachey and vangana or a young luke sutton and sandow.

He brought Isacc luke into first grade-Chris Sandow- Chris mqueen-John Sutton.
Thats four quality players introduced to first grade.

I'll also add he took the rooster's under 20's twice to semi's and from what i understand ran the roosters attacking plays this year.

Agree 100%

Can't believe some on here are saying because JT got punched years ago he will be a disaster... Ever thought that people do learn from their mistakes?
As I said before, the Roosters give JT massive raps with the work he has done this year, he was the assistant for the Grand Final winning team...

Taylor's coaching record is pretty good - we know what he did at the eels.

But at Souths he took them to finals in the first year, however due to an aging roster had to blood a few players in 08 and finished 14th ( on 20 points) however in 09 he got them within one win of the finals - they would have knocked us out if they got that one win.

JT was always the best man for the job. I would have accepted Arthur but we can't just employ him because he has an angry face. Let's face it he should have been here in 2007.

This is going to sound crazy but the longer they leave the coaching announcement the less chance the new recruits have of finding another club (if the new recruits with get out clauses are in fact waiting to see if Taylor is coach). I say announce it on October 31 if it's Taylor

Agree 100%, now move on the football manager or coordinator !whatever they call it , then start planning for 2014

Im happy with JT.
Has some passion for the Club and also a point to prove.
Not riding on past laurels/history like the the last merkin.
The fact that the Roosters credit him for a lot of their attcking prowess has me excited. I know we need to work on our defense too but FMD I cant remember the last time we looked capable when attacking the opposition line !

Besides there is only really one player at Parra that would worry JT at Mad Monday. Just keep Mitch & JT 10 feet apart & it will be All Good !
