I actually worry about how strong and powerful RL players are now, with most being (presumably) clean, let alone allowing PED open slather. There'd probably be more and worse injuries, if they were any faster and could hit harder.

But with the right drugs they wouldn't even notice injuries. If they broke a leg wthey just try and keep charging around (albeit in circles, unfortunately for them).

Probably, but the drugs back in those days would pale in comparison to the crazy shit likely around these days.
