Eels in 2004

I think we'll see the Eels really kick on in 2004 and actually be a title contender again. The only real problem the eels have had this year is in the halves. Sure injuries haven't helped, but the halves have struggled until Michael Witt got a chance and grabbed it with both hands.

He has given the Eels outside backs the quality ball they lacked early in the year with the likes of dykes, wagon, green ect running the show. If they can keep this kid on the park and injury free when it matters the Eels could repeat their form of 2001, cause boy the kid can play.

It's a shame though that they ditched Steve Witt and kept Dykes who has done squat since joining the club. Surely releasing Dykes and keeping Steve would have been a better option for next year and the long term future.

I just hope Seymour does for us next year what Witt has done for the Eels in the second half of this year.

He broke his foot and is out for the year. The cast came off but the bone hadn't healed right so he has to have surgery but will be right for 2004 kick off.
