Yep, all edge forwards can play in the middle. In the case of Penrith forwards, the same physical qualities (speed/mobility) that make them suitable on the edge also make them suitable as middle defenders in Penrith's system.

Yeah match fitness is also a factor. He reportedly did well in preseason fitness, but there’s a difference between running laps for 3 hours and playing 1st grade for 80 minutes.
Waqa was dropped for a reason (or many reasons). Despite some people here trying to talk up that he only remains down the pecking order due to injury reasons. I think we'd even agree to an early release - if anyone was interested in him for next season.
