I believe Smith has been training with Flegg, U21's means 21 years or younger. It doesn't mean he won't make it but you'd think if he was a chance of playing first grade in the next 1-2 years he'd have some sort first grade deal.

I've always gathered it to be that age or younger not purely being under that age. Sean Russell and Will Penisini played Harold Matts in 2018 (when it was still u/16's), they were born in 2002.

He turns 21 this year (in a couple of weeks actually) so he is definitely in his last year of eligibility for Flegg. I think the Panthers assessed he is unlikely to become a first grader, and we probably think so too (which is why he doesn't have a full time contract). So he will play Jersey Flegg, which is full of players who will never play first grade.

We have a top 6 squad at worst. At our best fit and healthy its top 4.

Considering we probably don't use TPA's to our advantage like the Big clubs in Brisbane, Roosters & Storm.

I don't think we have kept anyone we shouldn't have and the ones we lost while they were important to us not on the money they we being offered at other clubs.
