Eels lose Dykes
By Freya Grant
June 23, 2004
EELS playmaker Adam Dykes will not be fit for Parramatta's clash with the Panthers on Saturday after suffering a rib injury last weekend.
Dykes' exclusion is a blow to the Parramatta side who have been racked by injury this year and whose recent wins have been guided by the five-eighth.
The Eels will be boosted by the timely return of in-form halfback Michael Witt, who has finished serving a two-week suspension and he will slot straight into Dykes' spot.
* MANLY forward Jason King has escaped suspension by entering a guilty plea to a grade two careless high-tackle charge.
Canberra forward Ruben Wiki was suspended for two weeks after pleading guilty to the same offence.
Fellow Raider Alan Rothery also escaped suspension after entering an early guilty plea to a grade one dangerous throw charge.
Daily Telegraph
Adam Dykes being described as "the five eighth" after playing practically the whole season at number 7, and Witt described as the "in-form halfback" when his form is nowhere near last year and he hasn't played much halfback???????
You have to wonder about some of these reporters and to what extent they suffer memory loss.
