Eels Monopoly

Ok, as discussed in another thread, I'm gonna knock together a prototype crappy Eels Monopoly.

So, to start with, I'll need to figure out what to do with the common real estate from Monopoly. I've decided that I'm gonna replace stuff like Old Kent Rd and Mayfair with players from throughout our proud history and I'm taking suggestions in this thread.

So, have at it!

Old Kent Rd.
Whitechapel Rd.

The Angel Islington
Euston Rd.
Pentonville Rd.

Pall Mall
Whitehall
Northumberland Ave.

Bow St.
Marlborough St.
Vine St.

Strand
Fleet St.
Trafalgar Square

Leicester Square
Coventry St.
Piccadilly

Regent St.
Oxford St.
Bond St.

Park Lane
Mayfair

Sorry about the yellow.

They'll be done later, bart. First thing's first.
You need you're structure first, then the rest falls into place :fist:

Anyway, players...

Old Kent Road and Whitechapel need to be players whose infamous actions whose actions served to devalue their time in the blue and gold... Neville Glover and Paul Carrige?

Mayfair and Park Lane should be the top valued players over history... Ken Thornett and Mick Cronin had the stands named after them in 1986...

Working down from there in Green, using the stadium naming analogy would come Ray Price, Bob O'Reilly, and one of Peter Sterling and Brett Kenny.

In Red would be the other of Sterling or Kenny, and then followed by some of our named Hall of Fame team, until you get down to the start...

Only tricky bit is where to fit in current players that might be fit for this company, like Hindmarsh and... well where to fit Nathan anyway! Maybe Jack Gibson needs to be there too... or the Utilities/Railways can be coaches?

Maybe HJ you can call streets stuff like :-

Guru Street
Perpetual Street
Sterlo Street

etc.

PS:- Instead of the little guy on the box wearing the hat, put Suitman on there.

I was thinking exactly the same thing!

As for the other stuff, I wasn't thinking along those lines. I was more inclined to take each colour as maybe pertaining to a particular era and then picking a few players from each to fill the positions.

I mean, I think it's fair enough that guys like Mahon, Horo, Blair etc get a mention along with the likes of Sterlo and Kenny. Also, as you have said, there needs to be room for players from the modern era. Hindmarsh won't be inducted for a couple of years yet as he is still playing but any thought of not including him would be ridiculous, wouldn't it?

Old Kent Road = Paul Carige (bargain buy)

1st Station Harris Park = Nathan Hindmarsh (never stops)

Oxford street = Jarryd Hayne (similar reputation to King's Cross)

(good behaviour) Bond street = Greg Bird (Not a parra player, but just for fun)

Free Parking needs to be renamed after the $3 parking in the mental hospital grounds for sure...

Colours based on eras is a good approach too HJ.

Saving the bottom two for inglorious momented players, and the top two for all time champions, that leaves you with 6 colour sets for eras with 3 players from each. Call it 60 years and it's 10 years per era.

1947-1956
1957-1966
1967-1976
1977-1986 (a golden era- tough to just have three)
1987-1996
1997-2006
