Eels prepare for campaign Tim Escott
22Aug06
PARRAMATTA Eels should have a few of their injured stars back for the finals campaign as they celebrate their win over the Sydney Roosters their ninth victory in a row.

Eels coach Jason Taylor told the Advertiser yesterday that Michael Vella and Tim Smith were both training hard and would ``hopefully'' be back within a few weeks.
Skipper Nathan Cayless, however, is still doubtful for Sunday's game.
At the time of going to press, Taylor was waiting on the results of scans.
Taylor said it was ``doubtful'' Timana Tahu would return this year after suffering a knee injury.
In a high scoring game last Sunday, the Eels defeated the Roosters 40-26.
Nathan Hindmarsh and Mark Riddell played well up front for the blue and gold.
Taylor said Hindmarsh had done well filling in as a prop the past two months and Riddell slotted in really well into that role.
Taylor will need to prepare his troops for a resurgent Brisbane Broncos who hammered the Bulldogs 30-0 on Friday.
``I haven't seen all the game,'' Taylor said. ``I will watch it in detail over the next couple of days.
``We are playing against a team that has found form.''
Taylor said Sunday's team would be the same as last week depending on Cayless' fitness.
Hindmarsh believes the Broncos have definitely improved over the past fortnight.
``Their defence has tightened up a hell of a lot,'' Hindmarsh said.
``They are playing a lot better than they have been. This Sunday will be a real good test.
``It is two teams looking for a top four spot so it's definitely going to be a grudge match.''
Taylor also paid homage to the Eels faithful.
``The crowd have been superb, even the last two away games, the crowd has been getting behind us,'' Taylor said.
``We are looking forward to a massive home crowd this week.''
The Eels play the Broncos at Parramatta Stadium this Sunday. Kick off is at 3pm.
