there was alot of highshots let go. Also a hell of a lot of face rubbing and dirtiness in the ruck. But that's to be expected when we had no real enforcers on the field.
There hasn't been enforcers in the NRL for years. They've been rubbed them out of the game. It's why guys like Luai and Mahoney carry on the way they do.

It's quite amusing how vocal Hindy has been on the platform tonight.

Almost childlike.......

Anyone would think the result of this trial actually means something.

Come back Hindy when the Eels have won a premiership in colour, and within this century (not last)
You're only as good as your next game. 2021 is in the past, just like the 80s. You get to be defending premiers now, dealing with the hangover. I remember it was a whole lot less fun than watching a hungry team winning games.

Yeah Mick Ennis, Maloney and Josh Reynolds never carried on when there was a chance of getting punched. /s
I'm sure all of them were actually punched though. I remember Hindmarsh and Sandow both punching Ennis. I'd be surprised if the other two were never punched, given the lack of consequences for it. It used to be just a penalty.

Smug thinks you add Cleary to that side alone we win.

He will get better. Just needs time

Fox Sports said we only had 3 tackles in the 20 in the 1st half. That shows the pressure the side was under
Best player in the world and our leader. He wouldn't allow the side to play with such low intensity

I'm not reading a lot into it. But I honestly think you lack depth and if cop a few injuries will struggle.
Everyone fit come finals and are a great chance to take it out again.
Nathan's kicking game sets the tone.

Last season but Eishuth and Sorenson are back ups. Salmon isn't even close with 5 or 6 guys out. Now you have him in your best 17. So yes I think depth is average.
Go away and concentrate on your team. We will be fine.

Crazy how upset some of you get when Hindy makes a comment which goes against the thought they we are the greatest squad of all time.

Our edge depth is worrying. If Kiks goes down we are in real trouble imo. Same with a centre. Leaving a couple of squad spots and hoping we snag someone mid season leaves us short for the first 12 rounds.

We do not need them. Trust Ivan, and Co. The processes are in place.

We were missing the best prop in the world

The best lock in the game

Sets were starting poorly due to having a light weight fullback there

offloads killed us.

We were off the pace in every category. No one single player would of mattered and should be the reality check the side needed

Moses played 80 minutes of Origin, finishing with a back fracture that put him out for the next three weeks, and was excellent in the finals.
Moses and Wighton cost us the whitewash in Origin, they were no replacement for Cleary and Luai and our busted half back outplayed him in the finals.

Watching the game now because I missed a lot and Staines looked alright. I hope he can be patient and spend the next 12 months just working on himself physically and get up around 90kg if he can. He had less pre seasons from what I've seen people say on here so if he can take his time I really like his football instincts etc. It worked for Luai who waited for Maloney to leave.

We have depth in some positions and less in others, seems standard for most nrl teams.

I thought Tago was our best on the field but we can’t expect miracles straight away, he will be caught out in defence more than once this year.

Not seeing Lenui in the trials leaves a big question over the prop rotation, who is the 4th ?
I personally like Leota coming off the bench, I guess we will see Martin at prop a bit, but that leaves a second row spot open.
Hopgood probably comes In for that.

I though Staines played OK but nothing more at full back but we didn’t see him on the wing at all which was a surprise.
i get the feeling Jennings may get first shot

Sorensen was much better in the middle. He should be the 4th middle

Evening all, how was your Saturday?
It was good. Got a look at a bit of our depth and got to have a lol@souffs, so not a bad night at all.

We just need to remember how things went last year with the same calibre of players missing. Beaten by one of the worst teams of the last decade and still won the comp.

He needs to learn how to pass a football looks a winger to me.

He needs to learn how to pass a football looks a winger to me.

He can pass we saw the try he set up in his debut with a 30m pass at full speed. Maybe left to right isn't as good not sure. Edwards has the same issue though.

Of course as a winger he'll need some more strength or he'll end up like Bevan French who faded fast.
