OMG! Smith actually (finally) selects Dyke and Witt together in the halves IN THEIR CORRECT POSISTIONS  And Wags at 13 where he is best. Even Thorman in Prems has been selected at 5-8 for the first time this year. These late season "experiments" should have been the go from round one!

Regarding Jersey Flegg, I think it's just that "the stack" is on, trying to get guys qualified for the semis who are the right age etc. Jack Afa, Anderson, Cordoba are all just back where they started the season for the run to the semis. I have no problem with it at this stage of the year, and a taste of success can't hurt these young talents.

The only other guys that haven't been pulled down to Flegg are Hauraki, Mateo, the Smiths, and Reddy - we need some guys running around in Prems trying to get that team in the semis!

Finally Smithy has picked the right halves, but as most of you have pointed out its too friggin late. You have to wonder if we were still in the hunt for the finals and Thorman wasn't going back to the UK whether he would have gone with Dykes/Witt. As for Jack Afa, I know I would rather be representing Flegg in the finals than playing first grade for a team which will not take part in the finals.

Jack is simply in Flegg because of eligibility.

1) As has been said Jack playing in lower grades finals will be better then going on 1st grade Mad Monday.

2) Think about it Muckert is in reggies in the 2nd row with Hauraki. Muckert cannot play Flegg cause he is too old so it comes down to Jack or Weller drooping back to Flegg, ok maybe Weller should have gone to Flegg with Jack into reggies.

Same with Brett Anderson & Joel Reddy

I'm not complaining about Jack being dropped. He's been promising in first grade but playing in flegg may give him more of a chance to dominate and raise his confidence. He's had a great run in first grade for a young bloke. I can't see what Graham has does to get straight back into the team, i'd prefer Ben Smith in the side. Witt and Dykes as a halves combination is good, though a little late.

I feel for jack! There is nothing sweet about being dropped from first grade, and even worse, back down to flegg!

although i am happy with these selections, this is typical BS

when everything is about to come tumbling down around him, he pulls out the last resort and quietly folds and backs down on all his strategies and plays people in their correct positions

6. Dykes
7. Witt
13. Wagon

6. Thorman (PL)

and Hopkins is our best option at hooker in first grade at the moment

and if we perform ok or even win this weekend he will come out smelling like roses and save himself again..........but these sort of selections should have happened in Round 1 and perhaps we might not be in this mess??????

this is why i friggin hate BS and his stupid crap, but as i said above, some credit where some credit is due for at least changing his tune before he looked completely stupid

Out of interest, where's Eric Grothe Jr? Not that I want him playing, but why isn't he?

He is suffering from osteo pubitis and is a week to week proposition at this stage. Could be a good chance of lining up against your boys too.

is up to smith which grade a player plays in i thought if smith does not use someone such as afsmonger in first grade he just revert back to the grade he was plucked from.
