Well done guys, congrats on winning the charity cup. A little surprised at the amount of points scored though.

Parramatta Eels 9; A Dykes try. L Burt 2 goals, J Morris 1 field goal defeated Wests Tigers 8; J Wilson try. B Hodgson 2 goals.

probably a bit of both, i think for starters maybe some people didnt realise how close this game would be.......and then secondly, i'd say both sides were a bit off their games.

i dont think hindmarsh would've meant the difference between a flogging and a one point loss, sure he's good for you but geez one man doesnt make a team.

Im surprised of the scoreline.....i'd say the Tigers really stuck it to them & Parra probably fielded two different sides for each half.

3/3 for our trials 100%.....can't complain.

Tigers played ok. Both sides would be dissapointed with their performances though. We kicked the field goal with 20 minutes left on the clock, and it seemed a bit premature, but in the end was the right option I guess.

I've been reading your comments all week simon and I couldn't help but laugh to myself about psychological crap you dished out about the fact we should win 20 odd!!

guess what buddy boy!! both teams spend the same amount of money on players for their squad!! and not only that! your recruitmnet drive cost your club approx three times more than ours, therefore if you go on last years Charity challenge result, effectively with the home ground advantage and the fact that we lost three players before the match, you quite simply should of flogged us. did you???

having said that, it was a great hit out by both sides and at the end of the day the most important thing wasn't the result, it was that the money went to charity and also our reject signing absolutely smashed your star signing.

Mate if you are happy with your teams performance then you obviously have low standards.

You had heaps more ball in good territory but you couldnt score.

Of course, we dropped far too much ball, but defended brilliantly.

And who smashed who?

If you are talking about Hodgson yeah he did get smashed. But then he got up and continued his fine game. He didnt put a foot wrong and was easily the best player on the park. Thanks for letting him go.

Mate, never said I was happy!! I said it was a good hitout for both sides in the the coresponding game last year we got smashed by you guys. so I'm happier than what I was this time last year. As for Hodge!! he's just about the highest paid footballer on the park tonight so he bloody well should of been the best on the park. But you must admit Our reject winger did put him in his arse in a bone rattler, but if it makes you happy don't bother swallowing your pride over a team full of reject signings ;-)

to be perfectly honest with you from what I saw of him today, I'm not surprised that Smithy would look at Dykes,Thorman and even Morris as a first receiver ahead Micky Witt......but having said that this may be the kick in the bum he needs.

Dykes didnt exactly have a great game. Two or three times he threw shocking passes out wide to absolutely nobody, and we were lucky none of them cost us. One of them a Tiger player got to it but only managed to knock it on (they did plenty of that).

It may make him feel like shit being put on the bench in PL. Might be hard to motivate yourself.

Clearly he couldn't of been playing as bad as Kusto who never had probs getting picked by Smith

9-8 is not a good win, considering its only just a trial. But both sides were pathetic and werent at their best. But I spose its not as bad as the refereeing, that was WOEFUL!!!!. Matt Cecchin's performance was worse than Shayne Hayne's performance in the Parra/Sharks game.

After watching Parramatta's performance there's a lot of things to improve on. Cayless was simply outstanding, and I thought he was the best player on the field. Hopkins had a go and tried his best, as well as Armit, Burt and Morris (though he did some ordinary things). Dykes was again ordinary, hasnt improved since, did some very ordinary things. The backline movements werent set properly, this is something Witt can work on.

I cant understand why Smith didnt use Witt in the first grade, and then didnt use Thorman till the last 10 minutes. I also saw JT in the bottom of the stands just as the game finished. Funny that, I thought JT was gonna be used as a coach and Smithy a coaching co-ordinator. OH wells

If this performance hasnt improved in Round 1, then its gonna be a loooonng season. Lucky the Tigers kept droppin the ball, otherwise it wouldve been a different story.

1] first of all who cares if it makes him feel like shit, if he's gonna make it in the NRL his gonna have to work for his spot, Witty should have his head down arse up proving Smithy wrong why should the coach care about the feelings of their players because they've been dropped or chosen behind a couple of others.

2] The Ben Kusto card is getting really boring and overplayed different player different era.

Yeah your reject winger did put him on his arse in quite a good hit. But he got back up and kept up his brilliant game. We dropped far too much ball, but our defence, especially close to the line, was brilliant.

Prince also had a good game, considering he hasnt played since early last year. I found it sickening that some Parra supporter was screaming out "break your leg again" everytime he touched the ball. Simply no class.

But it was a brilliant game for a trial and only Cecchin stopped it from being one of the best games for a while. Congrats to Parra, see you in the season.

Tim Sheens used to get grey hairs when he was coaching the frustrating Cowboys.

I wouldnt be suprised if he went bald after tonight's performance.
