I used to use an electric shaver back when I had to be clean shaven everyday for work. I had a Philips myself but I've heard that Braun do a good job as well.

An electric shave will at best only give you a clean shaven look as opposed to a clean shaven feel though. So you'll look the part but running your hand over your face you'll feel rough patches here and there. So you'll still want to keep a blade handy for when you actually want a good close shave.

Oh, and FYI the first couple weeks of daily shaving with an electric razor can be a nightmare on your face. Be sure to get a nice moisturiser or shaving balm to apply afterwards to reduce any razor burn. After a few weeks your skin gets used to it though.

I use clippers when on holidays so I don't have to shave properly without growing a beard. I think they call it designer stubble.

If the shielas weren't lining up I'd have to root myself. Leaves them red raw but coming back for more.

Best option: Grow a beard.
Second best: get an old school safety razor and buy bulk blades online, or get razors through someone like dollar shave club. Don't pay stupid $$ to Gillette or Schick.
Option 3: just get hair clippers and rock constant stubble. Cheap and easy.

I'd been on and off with electric and safety razors....then about 6 years ago in a safety razor phase I started getting bad rashes and getting cut up real bad for some reason...so I bought a $450 Panasonic jobby from saver shop...one of the best purchases ever...it's like just wiping the whiskers off.

I have a Braun a lot like this and have been using it for a year. I love it and it has a pretty good cut. Nothing is as good as a proper shave. But this has saved me so much suffering in the morning. I liked it so much I ordered one for my father. I recommend.

I've always used Wahl, and so do a few of the hair dressers I go to.

Best brand imo.

Good advice from Danish.

I have really sensitive skin and blade shaving too often leaves my neck pissing blood
If I have to wet shave I leave it to grow for a week and then shave with one of those Schick 5 blade jobbies. So much better than the Mach 3 bullshit from Gilette I used.

A few months back I bought a Braun Series 1 - 150 modell for $90 from Woolies
Well you get what you pay for. Its pants, but at least I'm not bleeding every time I use it.

I might look at a more expensive Braun later in the year. If this is any good let us know
