Why do people like Shane Elford?

He can't catch or hold on to the ball, can't run (gets run down by Menzies) and really hasn't done much for your club all year.

hes been worse then ordinary the last few weeks

But his first 10-12 were decent and he was our no 1 centre, which isint really saying much i spose

Alll our players seem to get run down, even Hodgo, i dont know what it is.

menzies had a head start on him.

but yes.. thats twice now he has been run down and lost the ball at important stages.

hopefully whatuira and halatau will be our centre pairing next year.

IMO Elford continually gets bagged, when he is one of the only ones who are at least putting in an effort.

Yes, he has been in poor form recently, but he is is our best option at centre ATM. The centres next year will be Whatuira and Elford for sure.

Ill continue to stand up for Elford too.He puts in each week which is alot more than some guys are doing.He isnt perfect but who in our team is ??

Elford has been solid all year. Hasn't done too much wrong, but then again hasn't really set the world on fire either. He struggles to make a line break, unless it comes from an intercept, which concerns me. For a bloke with height and size on his size, i seriously thought he would be our go to man in attack. In my opinion he has been disappointing, but still continues to try. I think his form and ability explains why he wasn't a regular First Grader at the Panthers in 2003.

We had a better go then most on sunday. saved 2 certain tries with either determination ( hick's ankle tap) or quick thinking (foot trap) . he just needs to work on his handling (concentration) , speed & reading the defence (trainers & coaches).. You know thats what a good training staff can do.

i will stick up for elford as well, yes he makes mistakes but he has been more solid then most people this year.

Hes never gunna amount to anything more than what he is now....FFS have you ever seen someone continually fumble the ball as much as him?

Occasionally does something good, but generally thats far outweighed by negative performances.

He'd be lucky to make firsts anywhere else.
