With Serbias approach of brisbane rookie Tom Opacic the question arises as to if there are many or any Esl NRL champ/champ1 nswcup qcup holden cup players who could play for any of the nations involved who will/ are involved in rlwc2017 qualifying.

Yugoslavian apparently. I don't know how eligibility would work for that region as all the nations only came into existence starting in the early 1990's. Serbia for instance split from montenagro in 2006

Although the country was yugoslavia, people still saw themselves as serbs or croats.

He has to be from Serbia. You can't just pick players from anywhere in the former Yugoslavia for the Serbian team. He has to have parents or grandparents who were born in Serbia.

Is Opacic Serbian? It sounds more like a Croatian name.

I agree sounds more Croation however his grandparent might have been born in present day Serbia. There are ethnic Croats playing for Serbias national football team and vice versa.
