Well confirmation today that Elland Road will be the host stadium for the 2005 World Club Challenge involving the Leeds Rhinos and the Canterbury Bulldogs, should be an absolute classic with around 40,000 fans on hand to watch this historic match.

This game has the potential to sellout just like the Tri nations final should GB make it, the home team Leeds will become the toast of the Rugby League world should they be able to stop the canterbury jugernaught.

Sunday Telegraph (UK)

Debt-ridden Leeds United may install an artificial surface at Elland Road if the Football Association gives the go-ahead for a controversial return to plastic pitches a generation after they were banned for being too dangerous and inferior to natural grass.

The Sunday Telegraph has learned that the FA are on the verge of lifting their 21-year ban on synthetic pitches in the four professional divisions, offering Leeds and other cash-strapped clubs a financial lifeline.

I don't know what the time scale would be.
