the 4 nations is down under,we're expected to finish 3rd,anything more is a bonus, beating australia or nz in the group game is possible and making the final is possible....but making the final would be a bonus and losing the final isn't failure.

when their fans think losing isn't a failure you know how shit their going to be.

English RL has been the great disappointment of the last 20 years of international rugby league.

Bring on karma.
The biggest disappointment over the past 10 years has been England.
Figure out how to win! God!

anything after beating Samoa is an unexpected bonus. Like PNG in 08 the Samoans could be a tough opener

But can we really hope for Samoa to win a game?
It's more like the first game against Samoa could be a big embarrassment.

They are no chance without Sam Burgess so they may as well freshen their squad up by planning for the future, get rid of the likes of Westwood and O'Loughlin and select talented young players like Westerman and Clark.

Ok, so going into the playoffs on both sides of the world, this is what I'd like to see...

Hardaker

Charnley
Watkins
Shenton
Hall

Widdop
Tomkins

Hill
Roby
Graham

Ferres
Westwood
O'Loughlin

Clark
G.Burgess
T.Burgess
L.Farrell

Good mix of youth and experience. Very strong front row and a skillful, powerful back row. Just a shame that Sam is off to union as he'd be 13 and O'L would move into the second row in place of Westwood.

I think though this would be the best team we have had in a lot of years with the best ballence and a very quick back line.

no you don't....

you hear us going on about our pack but how its let down by our backs...

but our back are getting there, tomkins, hall, charnley & watkin would walk into any nrl team...our 6 was voted best 6 in the nrl this year...we're trying a new 7 this comp..lets hope it all gels together..

im certainly not worried about being embarrassed for a change

Does anyone else think Elliot Whitehead is a chance of a spot in the back row ?

I hope not. Very good attacking player but very weak in defence. He'd get run over by Australia and NZ and you can't carry passengers in the pack in international footy.

You have O'Loughlin in your side and he is absolutely legless, the bloke cannot run. You can always rely on him and Westwood to make dumb mistakes too. Westwood cost England that semi final last year.
Perennial losers, why not bring in some fresh legs and see what they can do ?
