I hope not. Very good attacking player but very weak in defence. He'd get run over by Australia and NZ and you can't carry passengers in the pack in international footy.

He is the clubs top tackler. When you get in like Elliot does, your gonna miss a few

i know i bang on about 2nd rowers & centers but i think we might be struggling for a center place...id consider putting whitehead inside of ryan hall...

hes 6"1 and 100+ kg,quickish, scored 17 tries this season and practically all of them come from wide running 2nd rower/center position..

if he was a aussie or kiwi he'd be a center

How's Shenton been this year? I've caught about 3 Castleford games this year and while solid he doesn't seem to have been able to reclaim the form he was in when he last played in the four nations?

he has been solid and does deserve the other center spot with watkins...infact he ruined watkins in the challenge cup final.

my reservation with shenton is the last time he faced australia ben hannett sent him to disney land then england crumbled....the last thing we need is to give the aussies a edge..."yeah lets run at shenton we knocked out last time".....its a negative i don't think we need...

I dont think this year is their year but i do think they could potentially be entering a golden era in english league. I think that considering the departures of Sinfield and burgess they should take the opportunity to use this tournament as a chance to rebuild. heres my team:

1.Sam Tomkins(age 25)
2.Josh Charnley(age 23)
3.Leroy Cudjoe(age 26)
4.Kallum Watkins(age 23)
5.Ryan Hall(age 26)
6.Gareth Widdop(age 25)
7.Marc Sneyd(age 23)
8.Chris Hill(age 26)
9.James Roby(age 28)
10.James Graham(age 29/captain)
11.Brett Ferres(age 28)
12.Joe Westerman(age 24)
13.Sean O'Loughlin(age 31)

14.Darryl Clark(age 21)
15.Carl Ablett(age 28)
16.George Burgess(age 22)
17.Tom Burgess(age 22)

Other members-Zak Hardaker(age 22), Matty Smith(age 27), Michael McIllorum(age 26), Liam Farrell(age 24), Scott Taylor(age 23)

Sadly Marc Sneyd's form has gone pear-shaped and his defence is right up there with the all-time turnstiles.

^Agree that Sneyd has been awful since the Challenge Cup final.

Career best form this year and TBH I'd probably have him as a nominee for Man of Steel, he should definitely partner Watkins in the centers based on form.

Yea I agree but if u read my post i said how I think its time to REBUILD. Im not just thinking of the here and now. Yea sure his form has gone a lil off lately but if he finds it again, which I think he will, then he deserves his chance. Him and Matty Smith are Englands 2 most promising halves. With Smith being 27 years old I think that investing time into Sneyd is a better option

dont you think little roby has had his time ?

roby's stats from the st helens v huddersfield game at the weekend

Tackles - 65 (1st)
Carries - 27 (1st)
Metres - 184 (1st)
Offloads - 2 (joint 1st)
Kicks - 5 (2nd)
Passes - 105 (1st)

and 2 missed tackles and 1 penalty conceded...

does it look like he's had his time?

no you don't....

you hear us going on about our pack but how its let down by our backs...

but our back are getting there, tomkins, hall, charnley & watkin would walk into any nrl team...our 6 was voted best 6 in the nrl this year...we're trying a new 7 this comp..lets hope it all gels together..

im certainly not worried about being embarrassed for a change

Yeah nah.

Yeah nah.

Yea he would. The only teams Tomkins wouldnt automatically slot into fullback for would be Souths, Storm and maybe Penrith after Matt Moylans superb season. At Melbourne he'd be their 6 and at Souths he'd probably play 6 too, if not then he'd easily walk into a wing spot

Nobody would sign him to play 5/8, he's a fullback. Currently the following NRL fullbacks are better than Tomkins: (not in any order)
- Greg Inglis
- Matt Moylan
- Brett Stewart
- Billy Slater
- James Tedesco
- Jarryd Hayne
- Michael Gordon
- Anthony Minichello (Tomkins would also be behind Tuivasa-Sheck after he takes the fullback spot next year)

He would also not get the fullback spot at Brisbane next year with Barba and Milford ahead of him.

One player I would be getting into the system is jake Connor. This kid has got it, actually reminds me of Moylen in that he doesn't get flustered and has time and space in his game.
