BULLDOGS-BOUND rake Michael Ennis is sick of talk anointing Wests Tigers' No. 9 Robbie Farah as NSW's hooker-in-waiting.
Tonight at Suncorp Stadium, the Broncos dummy half gets a golden opportunity to ensure Blues selectors widen the search, against the man billed as Blues skipper Danny Buderus's long-term Origin replacement.
Ennis, who returns to the fray after being a late scratching from last Sunday's debacle in Canberra, rates Buderus the game's premier hooker.
Yesterday he stopped short of labelling tonight's battle a 2009 Origin trial but said he was determined to ensure calculations for future honours aren't focused solely on Farah.
"I wouldn't say it's an Origin trial," Ennis said.
"I'm looking forward to it. Robbie is a quality player and it will be a good opportunity. I've just got to get out there and see what comes.

"All I can worry about (tonight) is getting my forwards rolling. That will make my job easier and bring my game to where it needs to be at."
While overlooked for NSW Country honours this year, Ennis is hopeful his move to Belmore next season will coincide with a leap into representative circles.
"If the rep selectors down the track want to play me for NSW at hooker, it would be a very special honour," he said.
"It would be getting a bit carried away while Danny is still around, but he is moving on next year."
Ennis believes he and Farah bring two distinct hooking styles to the table.
After serving his apprenticeship under Buderus in Newcastle, Ennis believes his game shows distinct characteristics of his former mentor.
"I have my own game and Danny helped me structure his quality assets into my game," Ennis said.
"I still try to work on the things he taught me. I'd like to think I still play my own style of footy while also having that competitive edge and will to win that Danny carries and his smarts around the ruck.
"Things he made me look for and notice out on the field, those are the things I try to practise. But I have my own game, my own attributes."
