Why is the Super League always refered to as the 'English Super League' when it contains a French club?

Why cant the Aussie's simply adapt to the truer title of European Super League? Not hard is it?

You'll find it's almost never expanded on from ESL over here, most people presume (as you would) that since it's always only contained English sides that it's English Superleague.

If we really want to be petty its Actual the Engage Super League.

Either way SL and ESL make it easier to understand.

Back in the days (about 1994-5) when Maurice Lindsay was unveiling his vision of a European-wide Super League stretching from Dublin to Moscow , the "e" was originally intended to be "European" but then reality intruded and the "European Super League" became merely a marketing vehicle and, in as much as it meant anything, the "e" became English. A salutory reminder of man's potential for stupidity.

Great idea, but I think there's more pressing issues for you to tackle, such as explaining the concept of World to the administrators of baseball in the US.
