ET Backs Raper

Article in todays Leader, I can't cut & paste so here are some highlights.

Since returning from his coaching duties in England recently, ET has supported Raper's move back to the Sharks and his appointment as Anderson's successor.

"Stuart has served his time and deserves the frist-grade job"
"He's got great communications skills and a knack for coaching as he proved here and in England. I've told him I will help out any way he can use me."

Raper says, "I have a passion for this place, and ET is one of the Shire's biggest personalities and a home grown product. We've been on the phone constantly. Et is keen to get involved again where he can with the football side of things and I'll be taking him up on it.

Steve Rogers says he too has told Raper he would help out where he can. "Obviously I have a bit of work to do within the club but I've told Stuart he has my help any time he needs it."

It then goes on to mention some loser from the Dragins, Michael McDonald who worked with Raper at Castleford.

Raper finishes up with "We'll develop a style to suit these players and the team."

Maybe ET can teach BK where to stand in defence as he defends as a centre. That is right that may not happen anymore.
ET would make and excellent advisor for the backs. How good could he read the play towards the end of his career.

This is really good news and tops an excellent week for your club!!.

Firstly you got rid of that obnoxious turd, and have replaced him with someone who has a passion for your club - and straight away with Et's return in some capacity, the club looks to be going forward.

Manly is also in a similar position with the coaching position being filled by a Manly Legend in Des Hasler, and he also has an army of Passionate People behind him.

Now regardless of weather people like anderson/Sharpe were good coaches is not the issue, the issue is that you need a passionate coach who has spilled his blood for the club - and both Raper and Hasler have done this, which I believe puts both clubs in good stead for the future.

All hail the almighty ET!

I always knew he'd come back to Shark Park sooner or later. I'm liking Stuey Raper as I hear more and more of him in the media.

How good could our young backs be if they had someone of ET's calibre to have words to them now and then?

The idea of how good Paul Franze could be with a little advice from the master is mind boggling.

:D

That is the BEST news I have heard for a long time!

I think the club has badly missed ET's presence over the last few years. It is great that he is coming home so to speak.

It feels like we are getting our club back!

I'm a bit worried that Franze will never be the same again after his atrocious knee injury...

Plus I could give him all the hot tips he needs: "you dont need flick pass every single time you get the ball!"

I think you may get your wish. wingers rarely flick pass.

But you can counter that wish, with what Emilio will do.
he can be a magician.

If it is true it would be great (I thought his other enterprises would be making too much money and taking up a lot of his time to be involved). I can only imagine seeing Greg Bird lining up a guy from head on and smashing up under the ribs, driving him backward like ET did many times, instead of grabbing for a stray piece of jumper.
I would also like to see a bit less of the attitude that has crept in with these young blokes as well. When you have the form on the board as good as ET had, then I'll be able to stomach the antics and carry on.
I think it wouldn't hurt if they all watched the ET video to start off with and see what a driven, loyal champion he was. The best player to have never won a premiership in my mind.

Maybe ET can win a premiership in a different capacity than as a player!
What about bringing a few other legends back too....Michael Speechly for one and definetly Dean Triester they too can share in the glory
