Okay, okay, now I know that its unlikely that the Eels will win all of their remaining games but I just did my selections for the rest of the year on the finals calculator and if they did happen to win all remaining games (and stranger things have happened) then I had us finishing equal eighth and the final spot coming down to for/against with the Knights and Raiders. Again, highly unlikely we can reverse a hundred points deficit against the Knights but mathematically there is the slightest glimmer of hope. A seventy point win over the Sharks again would help!

;) I haven't given up. I do the maths every week and the Cowboys could very well be the key. The 8 will be either 26 or 27, pretty much depending on whether the Cowboys can beat the Tigers or not.

We're only 4 points from the 8, and a couple of losses from those sitting on 22 could bring us within striking range. Stranger things have indeed happened.

Unfortunately, that defecit is gonna kill us. We had better smash someone well and good plus win the others confortably to have a chance. Sharks and Warriors are the two teams we have a chance of whooping, so we'd better do it in the next two weeks or for and against will kill us.

Unfortunately, too, last time we were in a position to jump at the 8 was the Cowboys game, and that challenge wasn't risen to. But alls not over yet, folks.

We had our chance, we lost it many times. Look forward to next year and hope its our turn to have no injuries for once.

I'm already planning my off season. :alcho: I love it! It's funny because 98/99/00/01 when we were certainties for the finals I used to wish the football season would hurry up and used to spend Summer thinking bring on Winter. Now, I love nothing more than the thought of going to the beach or swimming in my pool or sitting in the air conditioning or complaining about the 45 degree heat and reminding myself of why this year is gonna be a good year for Parra!

to maintain your sanity and to avoid depression it is best not to live in hope!! :) i actually feel relieved now that i have given up on making the semis and am looking forward to next year..

I think I'm going to have a hard time enjoying the rest of the games with my normal enthusiasm, if I accept we can't make the finals. So at least for the next week, I'm going to stay in denial and then if we lose that I can get excited about not getting the wooden spoon....

So this year we'll need to beat the Roosters by 28pts rather then Penrith?

let's hope WAgon passes the ball this time ;-)
