Group 11 rugby league side named for Newtown clash
Wednesday, 22 December 2004

Group 11 rugby league selectors have named a Dubbo dominated 16 player squad with power to add, for the pre-season clash with Newtown in Parkes on 19 February.

The teams will provide the 5pm curtain raiser to the 7pm NRL pre-season clash featuring the Eels and Roosters.

Parkes has only one player in the squad, new signing Josh Mills, a forward.

Group president Jock Colley said the squad would train regularly in preparation for the clash which has added tremendous interest to the Parkes promotion.

The squad comprises:

Dubbo Macquarie - Peter Boon, Darren Jackson, Luke O'Gannon, Andrew Johnson.

Dubbo CYMS - Wes Maas, Tim Ryan, Heath LeStrange, Nathan Smith, Brad Cross, Nathan Lawrence, Josh Large, Luke Jenkins.

Wellington - Chris Ah See.

Parkes - Josh Mills.

Forbes - Michael Schrader.

Manildra - Shane Gosper.

Coach Dean Pay, assistant Brett Patterson.

Managers Derick Hoe (Parkes), Tom Gray.

Trainers - Mark Murphy, Jeff Charlton (Parkes).

A few familiar faces to be seen at the Parkes trial. Good to see Deano getting some more coaching exposure.

Aah, must have just noticed his play at some point. Possibly quite a large lad if memory serves?

I believe so. I have a feeling though he may have came through our lower grades at some stage....
