Gee it has been good to get rid of some dead wood in 2010. I have really enjoyed some of these players performances for the first time in many years

* Today I watched Shannon Mcdonnell being inept at fullback. Dropping an unopposed bomb to cost his team a try, and making a couple of other unforced errors
* Johnny Cronk unfortunetly only lasted one game at 7 for the Sharks, but it was good comic value. In their 30-8 loss to Souths Johnny provided a couple of good show and go's and some useful hit ups.
* Ben Teo playing in the centres in a listless Broncos outfit. A pea hearted player for a guy his size that likes to get involved roughly every 17 minutes
* Dean Collis and Dene Halatau, the 15 minutes of football they have provided this season would of proven value for money for their respective buyers
* Corey Paine and Daine Laurie, yet to enjoy their performance as yet.

All in all thats 7 out of 7 for mine. These 7 players were released and not a moment too soon. Bronson is the only one making an impact.

They are all fair comments, but you must have missed Shannon Gallant carve up the Titans. Much better footballer than Blake Ayshford, we could`ve played Beau Ryan in the centres and Gallant at fullback and we`d have been a much better side than what we already are.

I was a bit of a Gallant fan. I thought he looked a real fullback. Always backing up, well positioned, courageous. Still being a little fella, there are games when he might get dominated. Was always a better player then Mcdonnell though.

Good luck to him, would of been nice to keep him but I wouldn't hang Sheens for it.

Watching Morris at #7 was hilarious. Collect ball, double pump dummy to no-one, then lay off for one of his forwards at the line to get absolutely smashed. He did this a good 10 times, and I enjoyed each one of them.

I agree Eddie, nearly all of the players we let go are doing absolutely nothing at their new clubs. The only one is Harrison (who's still hot and cold). Gallant has only played one match (albeit a very good one) and I'm not convinced he would have played consistent FG with us.

Harrison was terribly mis-used by Sheens, was never a prop.

If you had the choice of Blake Ayshford or Bronson Harrison at right centre, who would you choose ? In my opinion Bronson has Ayshford covered for pace, therefore no reason why he couldn`t play in the centres for us if Ayshford is playing there.

Im sure he will play a decent game against his old club. Like any player in that position he will have a point to prove. However I know out there on the wing we have a bloke with dreds who was worth every penny, and if a couple of players had to be moved on to get this move across the line, then so be it.

Harrison is a very hot and cold player, didn't earn the nickname taps for nothing. He is also now too big to be a centre and would struggle big time defensively, IMO.

I think Harrison is a fine player, but he's not consistent enough over 80 minutes and should be used as more of an impact player. Would like to have seen him coming off the bench for us. Should never have played prop, ever. Not that sort of player.

As for Ayshford, he's struggled defensively over the past couple of matches, but he's still developing.

We needed Lote no doubt about that, we shouldn`t have signed Mitch Brown or Geoff Daniela for more money than what Gallant was offered, it`s like chalk and cheese choosing who is the best footballer of the three of them. In saying that Mitch Brown is going ok, I don`t mind him as a footballer, but not in the same class as Gallant and never will be !!!

Needs to develop at BRET for a while I reckon, he`s our only real weakness at the moment. My point is Bronson Harrison was originally moved into the forwards as it was said he had bad lateral movement when defending. From what i`ve seen Blake`s lateral movement isn`t too crash hot either. He will improve with age and experience, but the top class left centres will carve him up all day at the moment.

Fair Points. However you know Sheens, generally when he makes his mind up about a footballer there is no turning back. So it would of been pointless keeping Gallant given Sheens reluctance to use him.

I can state in regard to Ayshford that he has been playing with a slight knee problem since the pre-season. Nothing that could have been operated on though at the time and he was being managed as best as possible. The knee was improving week by week but obviously after Sunday that changed.

If you actually look closely his running style was altered and more stilted than last year

Ayshford has been very good for us since making F-Grade. Look at the tape of sundays game and see who came up with some poor miss tackles in the second half--Harrison

Gallant a heart as big as Texas with speed to burn, but mainly due to his size will loose you as many matches as he wins for you, Iam not convinced he is the no1 you would want in a big end of season game.

As for the others either not up to the required standard of FG or past their use by dates

He could tackle? Really? He ran hard and straight, yes, but that was his only thing - probably the most one dimensional player in the game. He never, ever, improved, that's why I got fed up with him. He always tried his best so kudos to him but you need more than that.

I would prefer one of either Schirnack, Schirnack, Akeripa, Davis, Pritchard or Gower than Dene.

Than again I advocated promoting Lewis Brown and getting rid of Dene before his last contract renewal. So yes he should have been pissed off well before 2010. Brown has developed into a gun like anyone watching him knew he would and had the utility value of also being a first class rake

He was a local junior and a loyal and spirited Tiger but he was on too much money for what he delivered and needed to move on for both parties benefit.
